Background
After the Clone Wars, an enterprising Hutt lord named Lurto Dassak came into possession of a decommissioned set of 120 battle droids. These droids served as his personal bodyguards, hit squad, and militia. ZA3-L was assigned as a mechanic, and was deployed in 182 missions over a span of 18 galactic years. Not only was ZA3-L skilled at repair and maintenance of droids and weapons, but it also became known for performing unorthodox modifications to itself and other droids.
When the Hutt Lurto Dassak was assassinated during a political upheaval, the droid army was mothballed and scattered across the galaxy. ZA3-L was re-activated decades later by a junk merchant, and sold to a pirate crew captained by the ruthless Jex "Bloody Grav Boots" Tarbash. After a series of "misunderstandings" and "unsatisfactory repairs", ZA3-L stole an escape pod and crash-landed on Jerrist VI.
