Background
Built as one of Revan's original commissioned HK-50 assassin droids during the Sith war against the Republic.
It hijacked a Republic ship on one of its missions during the war, but the ship had a hyperdrive malfunction during a jump, and instead of getting to wherever it was trying to go before, it ended up exiting hyperspace in the "ass-end of the galaxy" roughly 4000 years in the future.
Presently, it's acting as a protocol droid in an attempt to figure out what the hell is going on.

Description
It's an HK-50 droid. Its left-hand photo-receptor was damaged and replaced with a "modern" photo-receptor that has a blue glow instead of the older yellow color of the right-hand photo-receptor. As a result, it has a "good eye," because the replacement is newer and higher quality than the original.
