Background

Jido Navaris was born into a life of comfort on the picturesque but underappreciated planet of Lersia, a lush mid-rim world known for its vibrant trade ports and thriving merchant families. The Navaris family was among the more respected merchant clans, dealing in rare Lersian crystal artifacts and textiles coveted across the galaxy. Jido’s early years were marked by privilege: numerous private tutors, exotic off-world vacations, and an overall opulent lifestyle. His parents, Daran and Lira Navaris, were kindhearted and ethical traders who believed that fairness and honesty were the cornerstones of lasting success. But their principles became their undoing.

As the shadow of the Galactic Empire spread, Lersia's economy grew precarious. Greedy rivals, Imperial favoritism, and ruthless competition chipped away at the Navaris family's business. Their honesty was seen as weakness. A betrayal by a trusted partner—a man Jido would never forget—finally crushed them, leaving the family destitute. Over a few short years, the Navaris name became a relic, and Jido’s parents succumbed to sickness and grief.

Jido, still but a boy, was left alone in a galaxy that rewarded cunning and punished morality. He took this lesson to heart: only the clever and ruthless survive.

The Rise:

Young Jido started small—cutting purses in the crowded streets of Lersia’s port cities, conning drunken off-world traders, and sneaking aboard freighters as a stowaway. He had a knack for charm even then, spinning lies so smoothly that most never realized they’d been had until he was long gone. He could charm a merchant out of his wares or negotiate his way out of trouble with ease. His natural charisma and quick wit allowed him to outmaneuver local bounty hunters and outtalk furious victims.

By the time he reached his early twenties, Jido had become a legend on Lersia—a phantom thief and charismatic showman who always stayed one step ahead. But his ambitions couldn’t be kept to his homeworld. He hopped a smuggling freighter to the Outer Rim and quickly found himself embroiled in the galaxy’s seediest underbelly: casinos, spice dens, and crime syndicates.

Escapades In The Outer Rims:

Over the years, Jido’s reputation grew. He wasn’t just a thief or a conman; he was an artist. His schemes were elaborate and bold:

The Alderaanian Heist: Disguising himself as an Imperial officer, Jido infiltrated a nobleman’s star yacht during a gala and made off with a vault of priceless heirlooms. He escaped in a stolen luxury speeder, leaving his accomplices to deal with the fallout.

The Barlow Sabacc Scandal: Jido charmed his way into a high-stakes Sabacc game on Ord Mantell and walked out with a fortune—only for the casino to discover days later that the deck had been rigged. The furious casino owner placed a 100,000-credit bounty on Jido’s head.

The Spice Lords of Kessel: Posing as a rival syndicate leader, Jido convinced a Kessel spice lord to deliver a shipment of spice to an ambush point where pirates were waiting—pirates he had tipped off in exchange for a cut.

But Jido wasn’t without his limits. Despite his greed, he had rules:

He avoided unnecessary cruelty, especially to innocents.
He despised slavers and refused to work with them.
He never betrayed someone who had proven their loyalty—unless, of course, the stakes were astronomically high.
These limits, coupled with his devil-may-care charm, meant that even those he wronged couldn’t help but begrudgingly admire him.

For every daring heist or swindle, Jido left behind a trail of enemies. Crime lords, bounty hunters, and debt collectors across the galaxy added to his growing list of bounties, which now total over 500,000 Imperial credits.

Some of his more notable enemies include:

Drexla Mora, the deadly matriarch of a Nar Shaddaa casino empire, who wants Jido's head for skipping out on a six-figure gambling debt.

Malk Rakar, a Mandalorian bounty hunter, whose younger brother was killed during a heist gone wrong.

The Imperial ISB, who want Jido for several counts of forgery, impersonation of officers, and theft of classified data.

Despite the mounting pressure, Jido thrives on the chaos. He lives for the thrill of the chase, the roll of the sabacc dice, and the intoxicating rush of pulling off the impossible. He’s well aware that his luck will run out someday—but until then, he plans to squeeze every last drop of enjoyment out of life.

Addiction 10

Jido is a hedonist to his core. He indulges in fine drinks, expensive meals, fast ships, and faster romances. His rakish charm makes him a magnet for danger and companionship alike. He’s a notorious flirt, but his true love is the game—the endless dance of danger and deceit that keeps his heart racing.

Yet beneath the swagger and smirk lies a hint of vulnerability. Jido’s experiences taught him to distrust others, but he secretly yearns for companionship and meaning. His refusal to harm innocents or work with slavers stems from his parents’ influence—a faint ember of the honest life he lost.
