In the extraordinary world of the Jedi, particularly during the clone was, Na'ria Fex was fairly typical. An unremarkable youngling who became a diligent padawan to her master, Mors Yungo. Master Yungo didn't serve as a battle commander, preferring to spend time tending to work closer to the ground, cleaning up messes after battles and working as something as a roving peace officer. Na'ria wasn't a fan, as while all her comrades were making names for themselves, she felt like she was doing nothing. Still, it was good work. The type that used to be the mainstay of a Jedi's duty. She believes completely that the Jedi are making the galaxy a better place, and considers it a privilege to be one of them.

Na'ria herself was a cheerful, dedicated student who found it easy to make friends, both inside the order and while working in the shadows of her master. She joined the Jedi order as a youngling, willing given away from her parents, who were merchant traders. Sometimes she felt guilty for being so separated from the Twi'lek heritage, such that she went out of her way to learn her history, language and traditions. It is one of her inner, secret goals, to do her part in stopping the slave trade, which targets her people so unfairly. That said, there is a willful blindspot in her thinking, regarding the fact that most Twi'lek sold from Ry'loth are sold by Twi'leks.

When Order 66 happened, she had been on a small Jedi starship with her Master, just leaving a Republic base to go to their next destination. Cannon fire had destroyed the ship, but Master Yungo found a way to protect her, and get out in an escape pod, using the force to hide it from detection.
