Background
Takili Tykes was born in 42 BBY on Dac/Mon Cala into a middle class family of Quarren in the city of Reefeston. Her father Reefskin Tykes was a foreman in a Mine and her Mother Tikly Tykes was a Fishmonger. Very early in her life Takili became aware of certain disparities in Dac society and culture, particularly with how the Mon Calamari made up most if not all of the government and were generally more privileged than the Quarren. She wished she could’ve changed those circumstances for her people but knew that she was powerless alone. Out of a wish of not feeling powerless anymore she isolated herself from others and started training CQC and long-range weapons fighting as she grew up. She didn’t have any friends because her training took up most of her time. The few free time that she did have she liked to spend at Nightclubs and dancing, her movements seeming like ocean waves. She told herself that dancing can be a form of training and in a way an extension of her CQC training, though obviously those were just excuses for her to have some fun. Her isolation from others and her intense training lead her to became a bodyguard for hire. On her off time she was interested in military history. At just age 19, through show of her skills she became the leader of a highly esteemed Quarren Bodyguard Group which was tasked with protecting the Quarren Mining Baron Sqiorr Rorn who was one of those Quarren who was taking funding from the Commerce Guild to mine certain ores. When the Clone Wars broke out and the Quarren joined the Seperatists, Sqiorr Rorn became an important member of the Quarren Isolation League and Takili, as the leader of his bodyguard forces and having some knowledge of military was made a Captain under General Tlak Yis of the Quarren Isolation Leagues newly founded Army. She finally was fighting for the freedom of her people to be recognized and to be seen on as the same level as the Mon Calamari. During the war she rose to the rank of Major, leading multiple successful assaults on the Mon Calamari and Republic Bases being supported by Seperatist Battle Droids and always fighting in the front lines herself. But even though she was there for her soldiers she never really formed any bonds with anyone, fighting more for the bigger cause of Quarren equality than for specific people. When the Quarren Isolation League was defeated by the combined forces of the Mon Calamari and the Clones of the Grand Army of the Republic, she was taken prisoner. The Mon Calamari are a forgiving people and even though there were inequalities between the Quarren and Mon Calamari and few Mon Calamari ever tried to fix those it still was always the Mon Calamari who tried to better relations between the two species, to make the Quarren feel more welcomed. And so she and the other members of the Quarren Isolation League who had not escaped from Dac to still work with the CIS were freed, under the condition that they may not leave Dac and may not bear any arms. She tried to live with her failure and the loss of the war and the cause she fought for though it was difficult for her. It was a difficult couple of Months for her which made her fall into a depression as she was feeling truly powerless again to change anything.
Soon after, the Republic turned into the Empire.
And then the Empire attacked Dac.
After the Empire subjugated Dac she was shocked to learn that it were fellow ex-members of the Quarren Isolation League, who in their hatred for the Mon Calamari and a wish to make Mon Calamari suffer as much as possible, even at their own detriment, lowered the planetary shield of Dac and let in the Empire, leading to the subjugation of Dac. It was then that she realized how weak the people of Dac were when they were divided but seeing how it was possible for multiple ships to breach the Empires blockade by the combined efforts of Quarren and Mon Calamari made her realize just how strong the people of Dac can be when they stand united. She and the Quarren might have lost the Clone Wars but she should not give up fighting because Dac could still be free. Her enemy, once the Republic that had now become the Empire, remained the same yet when the Empire had turned on its former allies she found new allies in her old enemies the Mon Calamari. She left Dac and made it her mission to find the Rebel Alliance to join them. Considering how the Empires efforts were focused on finding the Rebel Alliance and still couldn’t find them, all on her own she could have never found the Rebel Alliance. But on her journey she met someone else who was also looking to join the Rebels, a Mon Calamari woman named Labra Dab. The two had met by coincidence in a bar on and bonded over their shared homeworld. Takili was trying to fight for a united Dac and saw their strength in both Species working together but as it is with many Quarren she still could not leave behind the past and still had a grudge against Mon Calamari. And yet not only did they have the same goal but something else was intriguing her about this woman as well in a more personal and closer manner. Labra is a pilot and had not been on Mon Cala when the Empire attacked and she lost her parents during its invasion which is why she tried to join the Rebellion. The two of them worked together for a couple of months to find the headquarter of the Rebellion, carefully evading Imperials and following every lead and clue to find the Rebel Alliance. Though Takili could not forgive the Mon Calamari fully for the past, during her time working with Labra she started to soften up not just to Mon Calamari as a whole, seeing that the Quarren had usually been the more aggressive ones and that the Mon Calamari were often the ones to try and get peace between the two species but she also softened up particularly to this specific Mon Calamari and the two women started to become friends of sorts. They eventually found Yavin 4 as the headquarter of the Rebellion and Takili felt a sense of sadness when she and Labra split, Labra with her skills as a pilot deciding to join the X-Wing pilots while she joined the Rebel Alliance Army. She was not just sad at not seeing her friend again for a while but also maybe for just a second she had thought that there was more than just friendship between them. But she had to forget about that for now and concentrate on the fight she had been fighting her whole life, once again not having time for any bonds or personal relationships which she had pushed away all her life to dedicate everything to her cause.
In the Rebel Alliance she would once again became a Captain due to her military experience and expertise, leading the 47th Mobile Infantry Company known as “Amethyst Company“
Even though there was no official evacuation of Yavin Base during the Battle of the Death Star, she did quietly make some preparations so that people could leave quickly if need be, though that turned out to not be necessary when a newcomer named Luke Skywalker blew up the Death Star. After the Battle of the Death Star, when Yavin Base was abandoned, Amesthyst Company was stationed on various different planets for various amounts of time, like Bpfassh, Toydaria, Saleucami and Teth.
On Bpfassh when the battle was extending into the city streets a Mirialan civilian (Xam) was hit by either the crossfire or a stray blasterbolt. I helped him up and brought him to cover. Later he would join us and worked together with me and my Company for missions on two planets before being send elsewhere. During one of her missions with Amethyst Company she worked closely together with General Hera Syndulla who was giving Air Support to her ground units. Heras care about her troops brought her slightly at odds with Takili who cared only about the mission but they also had just as many topics that they agreed on and Takili respected Heras efforts to the Rebellion. After 3 years of waging war against the Empire, Amethyst Company was ordered back to the new headquarters of the Rebellion, Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth and has been there for 7 Months by the time the Empire found Echo Base
It was then that she got into a small situation involving Aaron Novar, Mariza Abroud, Iora Sebanne and Xamido Venzee
((Ironically, while she wanted to organize an evacuation of Yavin Base during the Battle of the Death Star when in the end it wasn’t needed, when the Battle of Hoth happened and there actually was an official evacuation now, this time Takili wanted to be on the front lines fighting against the Imperial attack forces but was instead tasked with organizing some parts of the evacuation. She would only leave on the last transport. Meanwhile Labra was in an X-Wing, escorting the Rebels transports off the planet. While the ground battle rages on she has to fix the problem of the Transport that was supposed to leave Echo Base next according to the schedule having some kind of malfunction and no mechanic seeming to be available....))
