Background

Dak was born near the end of the Clone Wars, when the Galactic Republic was reformed into the Galactic Empire. Being raised on the core world of Corellia, Dak grew up dreaming about becoming a hot shot pilot and flying around the galaxy. In his teens, Dak helped his father and mother at their mechanic shop, where Dak would learn about his love for everything that had to do with starships. When he wasn’t at school or helping at the shop Dak was hanging out with his best friend Cade, who he’s known ever since he started school. Cade was the same age as Dak but always seemed to be 'darker' then Dak. Dak and his family never really had any love for the Empire, whereas Cade's and his family were strict loyalists. But this didn't really become a point of conflict between the two as they both found multiple other things to argue about such as Dak's cocky nature, or Cade's annoying voice. As Dak and Cade started to mature into young men, they would talk at length about how they wanted to leave Corellia, and travel the galaxy together, with Dak being the pilot, and Cade being the co-pilot and mechanic. Having no love for the Empire, but realizing that it would be the best way to acquire flight training and credits, the boys both attended a One-Year junior academy, then had further training at the Arkanis Academy where they graduated at the top of their class and were both sent off to the elite Skystrike Academy where they learned how to pilot some of the best snub nose fighters the Imperial navy had to offer. After graduating from the academy Dak and Cade got posted at the Baxel Sector Fleet in the Outer Rim. One day while on patrol, Dak and Cade were told to intercept and destroy an unarmed freighter that was fleeing from the local planet, which was harbouring members of the Rebellion. Upon closing to firing distance, the freighter opened comms to both fighters telling the pilots that they were unarmed, carrying children onboard and willing to surrender. When Dak and Cade, told their superior officer about the Rebel's offer of surrender, they were informed that they were to destroy the freighter and return back to base. Dak was conflicted at this point wondering if he would be doing the right thing by firing on this fleeing fighter, and if instead he should refuse to fire. During Dak's internal conflict Cade fired and destroyed the unarmed freighter shocking Dak back into reality. When they landed back in their squadron's landing bay, Cade covered for Dak not shooting at the freighter. Dak pulled Cade aside after their post-mission briefing and asked him why he fired on the freighter, to which Cade responded "It was my duty to the Empire." Dak started to question his service to the Empire and whether he was doing the right thing or not. During the upcoming months, Dak, Cade and their squadron had multiple combat patrols, and interesting missions, which further made Dak question his loyalty to the Empire. Over time Dak started to distance himself from Cade and the other pilots in his squadron, and when Dak got some leave, he deserted the Empire, in order to search for the famed "Alliance to Restore the Republic." Besides his growing disgust for the Empire, Dak also has heard of the superior snub fighters which the Rebellion flys, which may have also slightly influenced his decision, but Dak will never admit it.

Motivation

Belief: The Empire
- Dak's time in the Empire taught him one thing: That while the Empire may being 'peace' and 'stability' to the galaxy it also brings oppression, and a lot of civilian casualties. Dak will stop until the Empire is destroyed, or until Dak draws his last breath.

Duties

Space Superiority (0): Having grown up on Corellia, Dak always dreamed about being a pilot. So when he defected from the Empire, he joined the Rebellion
