Once Ylise Argo learned to read, it was all over. Stories and information about the Jedi were so sparse and mythologized in his youth that he hoarded all information that he could. He dreamed in bed of mystical powers and myths from long ago, long ago. As he advanced in his personal studies he realized that long, long ago was much closer to his reality than he had thought.

Ylise's family never understood his obsession but they never contemplated the danger of his interest in the subject. He excelled academically and the most rigorous schooling he could receive would be from an Imperial Academy. As he grew older, his above-average flying skills, strong marksmanship, and excellent grades earned him a place in the Imperial academy. He still held passion for the study of a group considered to be terroristic and kept his true interests guarded. He loved the process of school but he couldn't bear to learn about yet another formula when something greater was out there to study.
He could only keep up with the brutal pace of the academy for so long and dropped out at the age of nineteen, or so he says.
...His parents have no idea. When they holo, he pretends that he's still a student there.

Ylise doesn't go around and disclose such personal information to his crew, though. He's denying reality and living in his own fantasy to such an extent that he wears the robes of and occasionally pretends to be a Jedi in places where it could be safe. He wants more than anything to become a Jedi so he masquerades and keeps up an air of mystique about him. Rather unsuccessfully. if you get to know Ylise, he's enthusiastic, dorky, and well-meaning young man. He's upset that he jeopardized his imperial career, but he's living the dream of taking freelance jobs, hopping from planet to planet, and taking in all sorts of historical and anthropological information about different cultures.

Sometimes, interest in something can turn to obsession if not tempered with reason. The character can slip into an obsessive state about his need to discover information, accomplish a goal, or defeat a rival and he may ignore all else until success is his.

5'8 with dark hair, dark eyes, and medium skin. Very thin and scrawny. He has a wide nose bridge and wide eyes. He's cloaked in a hooded Jedi robe split down the middle for ease of mobility access as well as thick pants and cool boots. Wears a thick obi-like lined belt and cloaks his rifle on his back.

He thinks he's the coolest but he looks kind of...cringe. A little bit of a tryhard.
