Thala grew up on Falleen before the Empire decided to lie most of it to waste.
She was the daughter of the rich No'er family who had great influence and positions of power all over the planet. Living her whole life among the rich, the spoiled and the vain has made Thala no different. She looks down upon many different species and views most as inferior. But growing up in such an environment also taught her the power of subtle, emotional manipulation, especially with her unique racial gift. At the age of 20, she went on a vacation to Coruscant to enjoy the privileges of high society there. When she tried to return to Falleen, she was stopped by Imperials and informed that the planet was declared uninhabitable.
For months, Thala tried to manipulate random spacers to take her off planet and back to Falleen, until a few passing Chevin agreed, but instead enslaved her for their own uses.
For years, Thala was their prisoner and product, until finally, after calmly waiting for the right opportunity, she managed to stealthily kill her way free and escape offworld.
From then on, she hopped from planet to planet, searching for easy job opportunities which mostly require a diplomatic approach and a large sum of credits.
Over the passing years, she managed to make a name for herself in the underworld. Quite literally, as various crime syndicates started to refer to her as Lady Kouhun.

Blackmail - Thala has a past she'd rather keep locked behind doors and a secret to most ears. What many don't know is that Thala had a period where she was enslaved by Chevin slavers. They humiliated and used her and her racial powers for their own finnancial benefits. Thala fears that if that news reaches the wrong ears, her finely tuned reputation in the underworld could shatter like glass.
Recently she received an anonimous holo message from someone claiming he or she has proof of her dark past and will leak it on the holonet if she doesn't eliminate certain high profile individuals every now and then.

+5 obligation, 1000 credits: The blackmailer provided Thala with a large sum of credits to gear herself up and be ready whenever he/she needs her.

Thala is emotionally colder than Hoth, but most don't see that side of her, as she shows everybody exactly what they want to see... until she turns the tables, that is.
She has mastered the art of social manipulation via a childhood in high society.
Ever since she started to travel across the galaxy, she has made a name for herself in the criminal underworld, as she often takes on jobs that fit her unique skills.
Though her preference is to avoid unnecessary bloodbaths, this has nothing to do with her having a weak stomach or a moral code. She's just a bit of a clean freak and doesn't like anything that could dirty her fancy attire.
