Background
Skip began his "life" as an Arakyd Industries SK-1 surgical droid. An ill-fated line, Arakyd was forced to recall the droids after a number of operations went catastrophically wrong. Dumped for scrap, Skip's body was taken by a bounty hunter named Rizz Tural who fixed him up and tampered with his programming.
Rizz had a penchant for bringing in his targets alive and figured having a dedicated medical droid on hand would be useful. Though not much of Skip's original chassis survived, his programming still served its purpose (especially once Rizz removed the pesky "do no harm" safety features.) With little to compare to, Skip enjoyed his new life! Rizz was a fair boss and bounty hunting came naturally to the failed surgical droid. It was not to last.
Rizz died, as organics tend to do when you cut off their air supply, and Skip was left with a drifting ship and a bounty in carbonite. Skip had a lot of time to think as they drifted. It was two months before a passing ship happened upon them, docked, and Skip was able to finally take the bounty back to Rizz's former client: The Black Sun.
It took some negotiating, but Skip managed to get almost half the reward as long as he promised to sign a non-compete agreement and work solely for Black Sun in the future. And should he ever fail, they promised, they would finish what Arakyd Industries started years ago and break him down for scrap.
Now, with a couple of successes already under his belt to boost his ego, Skip is off to Thyrsala on his latest hunt: some scruffy nobody named Breckinridge Barrow. (Maybe it was a lack of prep, maybe a chance solar flare fried his memory, but he's not sure what this guy looks like.)
Motivation
Skip is still hunting for meaning to his life, but in the meantime he's here to enjoy his newfound profession and make credits -- a value instilled in him by his former master.
If there is one thing that motivates Skip on a core level: never, ever, return to the lonely darkness of drifting through space.
Obligations
15 - Contract: Skip's former owner was a bounty hunter contracted by the Black Sun. With his death, Skip took over the contract and went solo. Should he fail to collect his bounty he'll be memory wiped, broken down for scrap, or worse.
Description
A motely mix of parts, Skip (named for the dumpster Rizz found him in) only has the torso, head, and right arm of his original chassis. Not designed for contact with patients, Skip's head is a transparent disc full of sensor arrays designed for precision work. To make up for the lack of a faceplate and make people feel more "comfortable" around him, Skip opts for a colorful tropical shirt over his chassis. Though mismatched, his limbs are lanky and fluid and he tends to move with a slight bob when he walks.
