Background

Kyvar isn't sure where he was born, or even who his parents are, or were. He grew up on Ord Mantell, earning his keep and making a living by scavenging in the Scraplands. It was a harsh life, but he learned many things, and survived into his 20's. With the ability to repair many things, and tweak and tune others into being more capable than they were, he attracted the attention of a person in the employ of Titan Intergalactic, a mercenary outfit. He was offered an employment opportunity, which he gladly accepted in order to get away from the Scraplands and see more of the galaxy. He spent much of his time learning a little bit about most of the services Titan provides to their clients, but settled in as a mechanic. However, a recent client on the planet of Jazbina has solicited Titan's services, and Kyvar's sponsor has placed him on the team to be sent, much to Kyvar's confusion. However, as a favor to his sponsor, he will give his best effort to accomplish the team's tasks.

Motivation

Ambition - Expertise: Kyvar takes great pride in his ability to survive, adapt and overcome the trials he has faced. He attributes this to his his luck, and as such strives to achieve greater levels of success in his endeavors. He doesn't do it for the money, or the fame, or the status. He doesn't even do what he does for the sheer thrill of it. He does what he does to prove to himself that he can.

Obligations

Favor (Magnitude 16) - Kyvar's sponsor gave him the opportunity to escape the Scraplands, and see the galaxy. As such, Kyvar does what he can to support his sponsor's goals, including the current and confusing one of going to Jazbina.

Description

Just over 6 feet tall and built lean and athletic from years of scraping by in the Scraplands, Kyvar possesses rather nondescript features and brown eyes and hair. He has a few scars, some old and faded, others new a vivid. He normally wears a pair of scanner goggles that he takes meticulous care of, as well as a comfortable duster over his armor, with a rather worn but well maintained pack on his back.

Other Notes

Recently performed amazing feats of awesomeness involving dynamic landings and defeating of foes that possessed disruptors. Now carries previously mentioned disruptors.

Kyvar is not aware that he is attuned to the Force, yet the Force is aware of him. It is his "luck" that influences nearly everything he does, and when he meets obstacles that provide great challenge, and might not do so well in surmounting them, his luck improves later and he finds such tasks to be not as difficult as they once were. Mechanically this represents the acquiring of the Force powers and talents that add force dice to skill checks, allowing for increased chances of success or advantage. For example, after not doing so hot on some Athletics, Coordination and Resilience checks in this games first two sessions, the Force adapted Kyvar's luck and he acquired the Enhance power and two of its control upgrades. Later on, some Piloting checks (both Planetary and Space) were not as successful as Kyvar would have liked. Then a good old fashioned bar fight did not turn out quite as epic was desired. So the next control upgrades came about. A few shots that were greatly over-hyped due to some bragging failed to dazzle and impress, so Intuitive Shot. Lastly, Kyvar's luck took pity on his poor attempts to persuade others and wheel and deal, so now he has Influence and its control upgrade. All the while he is still attributing recent successes to luck.

The total xp (210) is earned after chargen. At chargen 10 obligation was added to add 10 xp, for a total of 120. Total xp invested in Kyvar (both starting and earned) is 330.

The campaign style is closest to EotE, so all players started with obligation, but all books are allowed.
