Carstas came from a background training as a sharpshooter for the Empire. He was a quick student and excelled. He was often in the top level of his classes and training squads. His perspective changed when he was on an excursion where a group of Weequay children were working as slaves on in an Empire-led mining operation on a moon in the Outer Rim. From here, he went AWOL at his next opportunity, but found it tough to make ends meet outside the structure of the Empire provided necessities. He turned to using his skill to run hunts of exotic or hard to find creatures around the Outer Rim. The was a lucrative venture that gave him time to process what he had been through, but there was more out there and he couldn't put his finger quite on it.

He has a motivation that ties to a cause of not allowing a being's basic rights to not be infringed on. He has issue with anyone being held under captivity. Will step out of his way to risk himself to help those in need this way.
