Born and raised on Arbooine. Sat on the council of his clan's village, and was amongst the voices that agreed to act against the Empire when they landed in search of a hidden Rebel base (which may not have even existed). His clan was routed, fractured; most assimilated into other clans, while Roka went into self-exile, in shame and loss.

He's spent the remaining years in the Outer Rim, helping remote planets and colony settlements with trailblazing and locating resources. It's been difficult work, especially amongst Imperial settlers - they do not often take kindly to non-humans, much less one not even near-human. When his work was accepted, it was often with reticence.

He encountered Romund at an orbital trading station, with her offering creds to anyone willing to help escort her through the forests of Ashas Ree. For most, it didn't seem a lucrative enough proposition to make it worth the trip to an almost entirely uninhabited planet - however, Romund seemed determined on the voyage, and her stubbornness won Roka over. He agreed to be her escort - an agreement that would later turn out to be foolish, as Ashas Ree and Romund's interest there would turn out to be more than Roka guessed.

Strength

Independence: The character believes in relying on himself. He does not count on others to perform tasks for him; instead, he ensures he can handle any situation he encounters. He refuses to be a burden on others.

Weakness:

Fear: The line between caution and fear is a thin one. Sometimes the character spends too much time concerned about the potential problems of a situation to act in that situation at all. At other times, his caution causes him to flee when danger presents itself, through bolder action might reap real rewards.

Weakness: There is a fine line between showing mercy to one’s foes and letting evil fester because one does not want to engage with it. The character may let bad things happen simply because it is too hard to deal with them.

Nearly 2 meters in height, peacock-like coloration, keen and knowing eyes (all four of them), and a distant expression (may be hard to make out for most non-avian species).
