Background

Mykk's Father was a security guard for Cybot Galactica but lost his limbs in a manufacturing accident (one arm, both legs). Unfortunately, there are no good cybernetics for non-humans, especially for small species like Chadra-Fan, so his older brother Tyrkk built custom cybernetics for their Father. They worked so well, Tyrkk tried to patent them, but his designs were stolen by Cybot Galactica (after they saw what was done for their father).

After this, Tyrkk fell into a depression and disappeared. Mykk decided he wanted revenge on Cybot Galactica for what they did to his family (especially Tyrkk), by pulling off a major heist on them (ideally stealing hundreds of millions of credits) to fund his big dream. This became personal after being cheated by Fot Chuuva at a casino (Chuuva had connections to the casino owners and used it to rig the game).

His big dream is to carry on his brother’s dream, but to take it a step farther, creating a company for the Chadra-Fan to do R&D and patent protect their inventions (for which they are well known), including developing good cybernetics for non-human species (rather than always selling their ideas to big conglomerates).

Motivation

1. Revenge on Cybot Galactica via major heist
2. Form successful R&D manufacturing company for the Chadra-Fan (esp. developing cybernetics for non-humans)

Obligations

Revenge:
Mykk tried to develop a cybernetic invention for Chadra-fan, and when this venture failed, he began searching for his brother (both to find him and to get Tyrkk’s help with his invention). During this search, he earned his living as a gambler, which was working well until he was cheated by Fot Chuuva, a Muun oligarch with interests in Cybot Galactica (though banking is his main business).

Because of this, Mykk decided to work as a smuggler until he could earn enough to pull together a crew to help him accomplish his big goals.

Obligation: 30 (starting 10, + 20 (10 for +10 XP, 10 for +2500 Credits))

Description

Other Notes

Seascape Diving Suit: Provides 6 hours of atmosphere, water and nutrition supplements to the wearer. Wearer does not suffer movement penalties for travelling through water.

Laser sight: (1 HP) Gain automatic advantage on successful combat checks with this weapon.

Paired weapons: (1 HP ea.) Must be applied to two weapons at the same time (1 HP per weapon). Reduces the required Advantage to hit with the secondary weapon when two-weapon fighting with this pair of weapons by 1. (Only 1 Adv needed to hit with 2nd weapon)

Merr-Sonn Model 53 "Quicktrigger" Blaster Pistol: Reduce the difficulty of Mechanics checks to repair or modify attachments on it by 1.

Combined Two-Weapon Check
- First, the character denotes one weapon as the primary weapon. They then determine what skills and characteristics they would use when making attacks with their primary weapon, and their secondary weapon.
- The character then takes the skill that they have lower ranks in, and the characteristic that they have lower ranks in, and use this skill and characteristic to assemble their dice pool. (If both checks would use the same skill or characteristic, they simply use that skill or characteristic.)
- They then compare the difficulty of the two combat checks they would make with each of their two weapons to hit their target, and select the check with the higher basic difficulty. They increase the difficulty by one if the two skills are the same, and by two if they are different.
- If they succeed, they hit with their primary weapon as normal. They may also spend 2 Advantage (1 if they are Paired) or 1 Triumph to hit with their secondary weapon as well. If both weapons hit, they may spend additional Advantage or Triumph to activate qualities from either weapon. Each hit deals its base damage, + 1 damage per uncancelled success.

Camouflage Netting: contains photoreactive fibers that enable it to match the visual profile of its surroundings, as well as jamming circuitry that offers an effective countermeasure against standard sensor sweeps.
- Adds automatic 2 failures to all checks made to detect items concealed by it. One roll of netting can conceal one object up to silhouette 2, two rolls can conceal one object up to silhouette 3, and three rolls can conceal one object up to silhouette 4. Anything silhouette 5 or larger is too large to conceal by camo netting alone.
