B2-S2, one of the last Super Battle Droids to be built towards the end of the Clone Wars, was never properly activated before the order came to deactivate the Separatist army. It lay dusty and rusting in an abandoned foundry for many years until being discovered by a team of Rebel explorers. A young mechanic named Lann Rodar took B2-S2 on as a personal project, repairing his systems and reprogramming the droid to serve the Rebel Alliance... mostly. Lann Rodar was not the best programmer and was not entirely able to scrub the Super Battle Droid of its former separatist tendencies. But he was able to direct its hatred towards the Empire and given that the droid has been successfully deployed on a couple of combat missions without firing upon fellow fighters of the Alliance to Restore the Republic (so far), it is has been deemed ready for assignment to the frontline. It retains as good a relationship with Lann as a Super Battle Droid can with any organic being, but it has not seen him for a while as Alliance Command has deployed both operatives to different theatres.

Freedom - the autocratic and tyrannical rule of the Emperor is an offense to the core programming of B2-S2, and if Count Dooku is no longer alive to rightfully guide the galaxy under his enlightened stewardship, Beetoo will fight for the Rebellion until the Emperor and Empire are both crushed beneath his durasteel feet.

B2-S2 (Beetoo) is a B2-series Super Battle Droid manufactured by Baktoid Combat Automata in 19 BBY. It has dull silver plating, a red chest light, and stands 6ft 4 inches tall. It has a deep robotic voice and despite its general lack of emotion, is programmed with a deep and fanatic hatred of the Empire and its tyrannical rulership.

It holds fond memories of Count Dooku, despite having not existed in his lifetime, and believes that the Rebel Alliance is the best hope for the freedom of the galaxy.

It has been programmed not to really think about the implications of the name "Alliance to Restore the Republic".
