Background
Ria was born in a covenant on the feudal ocean world of Irmenu as the illegitimate daughter of a noble and an exile. Tested for force-sensitivity as a babe when the test came back positive she was quickly handed over to the jedi to save face and make her a 'useful' member of the noble house despite being a bastard. Ria was raised within the jedi temple growing up among the other younglings until she passed her gathering and crafted her lightsaber. From there she was apprentice under the male Devaronian Jedi knight Kedrik Draz who scouted the far reaches for the Jedi Council. Ria would spend five years roaming the distant stars with her Master before the Clone Wars came. Master Kenrik did not approve of the jedi's involvement in the conflict and thought the creation and use of clone soldiers was morally detestable. Yet duty still called and despite his distaste he held no ill will against the men themselves. Ria and her Master would spend much of the war scouting for the Republic and guiding clone battalions through the dangerous wilds. It was while helping one of these clone battalions that Ria was 'gifted' her Nexu Sarge which she affectionately named for the Clone Sgt that brought the hissing clawing ball of teeth to her. The clones having discovered the half-starved Nexu kitten among the goods of a group of poachers they took into a custody and knowing Padawan Ria's fondness for creatures felt she was the best to deal with it. Ria and her Master would go on to guide other battalions, but Sarge would remain a constant in Ria's life.
Ria's Master sadly would not. When Order 66 came Master Kendrik was fatally shot, only barely managing to warn Ria before she could meet the same fate. Fleeing into the brush the now Masterless Padawan stumbled upon a group of clone deserters and managed to smuggle herself and Sarge off-world alongside them. With their help Ria managed to fake her death with the loss of her lightsaber and made contact with the Underground Star Road. Disguising herself as a vet and exotic game hunter to slip herself past Imperial detection she's made her way to Nar-Shadda and found the first safe house. With luck she will get aid to reach the next checkpoint and be able to find her way among the stars.
Motivation
Pursuit - Happiness: The Jedi are gone, the Republic fallen and Ria has given her childhood to duty and war. Now all she wants is to not only survive, but one day thrive. Seeking to find her own little spark of happiness in the war torn world.
Morality
Strength - Love: Jedi are not supposed to form attachments, but Ria has never been the perfect jedi. She cannot help, but grow fond of those around her who have grudgingly earned her trust and with it her affection. While she is loathe to speak of it Ria finds herself longing for the closeness of family. Something that feels like a fairytale in her life swallowed by jedi detachedness and now rampant and constant risk of betrayal. She can't help acting on this longing gathering to her outcasts and misfits be they sentient of creature seeking to form her own little patchwork clan.
Weakness - Vengeance: Ria has had very little contact with her family beyond heavily censored letters from her mother or the occasional long winding lecture from her grandfather. However, if there was one thing she took away from her roots it is this "Do not get angry. Get even." Naturally an amicable and well-mannered Padawan Ria is slow to anger. While slights against herself rarely rise her ire Ria is quick to defend those she loves and cares about and her vengeance is often swift and utterly brutal. Few expect the cold practicality in which the usually smiling Padawan can take apart those who have wronged her chosen companions.
Description
Ria is between her late teens and early twenties standing 5'1 with a petite svelte build of wiry muscle. She has pale lightly tanned skin with a dainty nose and delicate aristocratic features that off-set brilliant gold eyes. Her hair is a long wavy light blonde that she keeps pulled back from her face in either a messy ponytail or braid bound with a leather tie. Since the fall of the Jedi Order Ria has taken obscurity to heart and dresses in plain nondescript spacer gear with usually a large ragged poncho and hood to better obscure herself with. Her hunting goggles can usually be seen on her head or hanging around her neck and she keeps her Weequay blaster lance slung by a strap over her back. She usually walks with what appears to be a simple herding staff in hand, but is in fact her stripped down electrostaff. Overall her appearance is that of a disheveled hunter and a flash of Sarge's teeth is usually enough to keep anyone from looking much closer.
Sarge himself is a rather large affectionate, when it entails his master, black Nexu with red eyes, and dark gray markings. He tends to stick to Ria like a furry shadow and where one can be found the other is rarely far behind.
