Background

LD-50 “Dee” – The Doctor You Call When All Else has Failed

LD-50 is a modified medical droid that was initially under the employ of the Empire. Originally designed to assist Imperial scientists with interrogation research and recovery on unwilling subjects.

It is rumored she was reprogrammed by one of her test subjects, a gravely injured healer. He was the only human who had ever treated her with dignity, and in gaining her curiosity, he got close enough to reprogram her before he died, adding invaluable ancient medical lore from his family history to her cutting edge medical database. She nearly shorted out from the database expansion and the new awareness of what she previously did for the Empire. Despite now being wired to heal others, not harm them, she still uses her previous interrogation skills on the Empire and any enemy who dare cross her team.

Now going by "Dee," she joins a band of misfits as their shadowy medic aboard a smuggling vessel in the Outer Rim. Will patch you up—for a price. Discounts for sob stories or philosophical debates.

Motivation

Obligations

Description

Appearance: Chassis is Sleek, humanoid chrome with exposed black carbon fiber musculature.

Personality: Clinical but Witty. Dee speaks in precise medical jargon laced with dry sarcasm. Think of a blend between an ER doctor, a field medic, and a darkly humorous mother that doesn't suffer fools.

Other Notes

Inorganic: Since droids are inorganic, they do not gain the benefits of recovering with a bacta tank, stimpack, or Medicine skill checks. Droids do recover naturally by resting, as their systems attempt self-repairs. Otherwise, droids need to be tended to with a Mechanics check, using the same difficulties and results of Medicine checks for organic beings. Emergency repair patches can be used to repair damage just like stimpacks are used on organic beings.

• Mechanical Being: Droids cannot become Force sensitive, nor acquire a Force Rating by any means. Droids cannot use Force powers, and also cannot be affected by mind-altering Force powers.
