Background

Taken as a young Wookie from Kashyyk at 8 years old during the Imperial Purge, Hist believes his family to have all been killed and has been working as a slave for the Empire for some time, he doesn't really know how long. Given his mechanical skill he got a little extra freedom due to repairing machines. He stole parts and bits here and there for years to make a stash he turned into a bowcaster from his memory of family weapons. It looks rough but works as it should. When a chance for a breakout came, he took it.

Mine he was a slave at: K1887 on an astroid with heavy metals in the Maelali system in the astroid belt 3rd orbit from the sun. Supplying an Imperial Navy output around the airless fourth planet.

A large 8-year-old, Hisst was assigned to sorting initially until his 10th birthday. Early on he was clever with the limited resources at hand and fixed broken sorting equipment without prompting. This was noticed by line lead slave Xyk Kass, a Trandoshan in her middle age. She started assigning Hisst to her lines as often as possible, hoping to earn rewards through the results of his mechanical work, and his strength for his age.

His first escape attempt came shortly after his move from the sorting lines. By that time he was used to being shielded by his age, and Xyk, and the shock of being moved to a hauling gang due to his size was too much at once. He tried just sneaking away, but with his inexperience, he was caught and beaten with a whip by Sgt. Williams of the Imperial Army.

Over the years as he matured confrontations with Sgt. Williams became more and more frequent, and the beatings more severe. At 16 when Hisst was moved to mining he was reunited with Xyk who started teaching him to fly under the radar. She also secretly started teaching him to fight and warned him to Never use that unless he knew he was getting out. She started getting him safer assignments and more benefits by using his increasing mechanical skills. He used better assignments and his inclination for hiding and sneaking to start acquiring parts for tools and, started building things. He started with simple things that let people have light in the dark mining tunnels, then made a primitive silent digging machine that some other prisoners were using to make a hiding spot. When they got caught and executed, he wasn't with them, but it taught him that his next escape attempt could be his last. He began to keep his head down and appeared to be a model prisoner.

Sgt. Williams continued his vendetta against Hisst, and caused more problems than any two other things. He seemed to have a particular vendetta against Wookies that he took out on Hisst as he grew. Starting in his early 20s, Hisst started working on his plan to make a Bowcaster. He remembered his parent's weapons, and over years stole parts one at a time to make the weapon. His first try failed, his second was barely better. It took him 4 years to make a working bowcaster. The inelegant weapon made of scraps from mining equipment and salvaged from a broken blaster he "found" after a riot he hid. He secretly stole away in the sleep shifts to learn to fire his creation, and waited. Eventually, there would be a chance at a breakout, and he would be ready when it came.

Motivation

None should be a slave, and the Empire is unjust.

Description

2.2 Meters tall, and a gaunt 105 Kilograms, Hist shows scars from his slavery through his blue-gray fur. Ropy muscles and slightly hunched shoulders show tension all the time. His eyes are a honey gold.
