Background

Background: Andehermo was born to a slave trader, Reh Pronamlmi, who worked for the Vermilic kajidic trafficking slaves to their farming world of Carnovia. Unfortunately for Reh, one year he botched a shipment of his slaves from Vinsoth to Carnovia. He tried to pack 500 Chev into a freighter designed to carry only 100 passengers. When the hyperspace trip took days longer than anticipated, he lost over half of the slaves by the time he arrived in Hutt Space. The Vermilic’s were greatly angered by the botched shipment and decided to enslave him and his whole family, including his wife and brother who helped with the trafficking operation. Reh and his family were put to hard labor in the eel farms on Carnovia and forced to work alongside the very Chev that they had helped bring to Carnovia. Andehermo was born into the slave colony, but after several years, Reh convinced the Vermilic’s to show “mercy” and send his son back to Vinsoth to live with friends they still had there.

The Hutts agreed and sent him on another Chevin’s slave ship heading back to Vinsoth, since it just finished delivering another shipment of Chev for them. Andehermo went back to his homeworld, but was permanently scarred by his experience in the Chev slave camps on Carnovia. He was deeply impressed by the Chev and their hardy nature despite their disparate fate. He has vowed to never own or traffic in slaves and feels especially responsible for the Chev. While back on Vinsoth, he was raised by friends of his parents who were merchants that frequently traveled off planet. They did not deal in slaves, but did buy and sell many other illegal items, including weapons, drugs, and stolen goods. He learned to barter with the best of his tribe and grew to love profits as much as any good Chevin does. As a young trader, he earned his nickname “A-Pro” by out dealing several other professional merchants, most of which had trouble pronouncing his name.

His guardians were very concerned though with how outspoken he was about the plight of the Chev. They did not own slaves themselves but were frequently embarrassed to have him around when he voiced his opinions around other Chevin. Another trait that he picked up during their travels that was counter to Chevin culture was the art of lying. He made friends with members of lots of other species who often lied about themselves and their intentions. Where most Chevin saw lying as bad for business, A-Pro saw more opportunity in it. To protect himself in the dangerous parts of Hutt Space, he was always sure to take his sword cane he had acquired from a smuggler on one of their journeys. After he heard news of his family dying on Carnovia, he decided it was time to leave his guardians. He lied about going to buy some supplies for their ship while on the Smuggler’s Moon and disappeared into the lower levels. He has been living off his wits ever since looking for an opportunity to get into some form of business in which to make money.

Motivation

Emancipation - Apro wishes to see the Chev freed from their lives of slavery under the Chevin and the Hutts.

Greed - Apro also wishes to become filthy rich some day.

Disgraced (10) - Apro has disgraced himself in the eyes of his race by speaking out against slavery of the Chev and by engaging in lying, which is considered taboo among the Chevin. Other members of his species, if they know about him, will not help him and may go out of their way to thwart him.

Other Notes

Short Term Goal:

- Make enough money for a cybernetic brain implant. Being able to track numbers and house data in his brain makes the most business sense to him and he always strives to make more money.

Long Term Goals:

- A-Pro aspires to one day own and operate his own business. He hopes to be able to run a trade or manufacturing company involved in the droid market to help replace slave labor.
- He also dreams of one day having enough money to free large numbers of Chev slaves and relocate them to other planets so that they can live peacefully and free. Also, having enough money so that he doesn’t have to work for most of his long life is part of that same goal.

Nemesis:

- The Vermilic kajidic that enslaved his family has heard about his opposition to using Chev slaves and is not happy about his position on them using slaves. They will likely try to silence him if he becomes too vocal or tries to act on his feelings.
