Background
Born and raised on Ryloth, Jaeda was little more than a young girl when her home became a protectorate of the Galactic Empire. While classed as free and independent, Ryloth's title did not reflect reality. Many isolated settlements did not even know of the Empire's existence until they were raided and their populations forced into slave labor. As consequence, the former Free Ryloth movement, created during the Clone Wars, instigated a new rebellion against the Empire.
Jaeda was one such member. After her small settlement was likewise raided as many others were, her parents and sister killed in the brutal occupation, Jaeda found herself alone and vulnerable. The Empire took her, along with many others, and forced them into the mines on Ryloth, the spice there used for many purposes within the Empire and thus was greatly coveted.
For years, Jaeda laboured and toiled under the harsh conditions of slavery. Then she began to hear rumours of a resistance movement, from which spawned a glimmer of something she had thought lost: hope. Seizing it as something prized, to be cherished above all, Jaeda sought contact with the Free Ryloth movement, and while waiting on their aid, she secured her own safety by wooing an Imperial officer and finding solace in his bed, doing as many Twi'lek women did in these desperate times.
The man she chose was kinder than most officers, and once in contact with the resistance, Jaeda used her close relationship with the officer in order to feed the rebellion crucial information regarding the Empire. Her efforts, in combination with many others, eventually led to their freedom from the mine as it was raided by the Ryloth rebellion, halting the spice trade temporarily and dealing the Empire one of many blows soon to follow.
With herself freed, Jaeda assimilated into the ranks of the Ryloth movement and spent more years working for them as a spy, still retaining contact and a relationship with the officer.
Her tenure with the Free Ryloth movement came to an unfortunate end with the capture of the Syndulla clan and their residence by Grand Admiral Thrawn, which dealt a demoralizing blow to the rebellion. Slitting her beloved officer's throat in the hours shortly following the tragic news, Jaeda left him dead in his bed and she fled the planet, to seek aid outside of Ryloth for her people.
