Background
12-ROM was first produced as part of a limited 1-series test of LOM droids designed to interface with computers. The series was scrapped during testing and what was to become 12-ROM was consigned to the scrap heap. Black Sun took interest in these tests and obtained a unit. To create a custom, skilled splicing droid, the combined the LOM unit with parts from an R2 droid, naming the resulting unit 12-ROM. Under Vigo Jessux Dront, it took part in many illicit operations. To assist in its abilities to carry these out, it was outfitted with slicer gear in its arms, a built-in commlink, and a comm jammer in its torso. Additionally, it has juiced up servo, extra plating, and built-in hand weapons to double as an enforcer. While 12-ROM was programmed to be subservient to Jessux Dront, a rebel agent named Jaiisa Kalecora met the unit while it was on a mission and managed to reprogram it to free its will (and use it to aid Rebel causes). In gratitude, 12-ROM has assisted Jaiisa on several missions, and will continue to feel a duty to do so, while Black Sun still considers it to owe them its service in perpetuity and will also call upon it.
Motivation
Ambition: Freedom - 12-ROM seeks to be freed from obligations to Black Sun.
Obligations
Debt (10) - Black Sun refurbished 12-ROM from the scrap pile and made it the skilled slicer it is today. For this, 12-ROM owes its services to the organization in perpetuity and must carry them out when called upon. Before being reprogrammed, this was not a choice. These services are owed most specifically to Vigo Jessux Dront.
Dutybound (5) - 12-ROM was reprogrammed to remove its subservience to Black Sun by rebel agent Jaiisa Kalecora and free its will. It now feels a strong sense of duty to assist the Rebellion when called upon or the opportunity to do so arises.
Description
12-ROM looks heavily retrofitted, with different colored plating over its torso and arms. While not entirely visible from the outside, plating and internal parts have been removed to make room for slicer tools and a com jammer. Its left hand is noticeably larger than its right. It retains the insectoid head of its line, however. Meant to interface with Gand, 12-ROM speaks their language well, as well as those of other 1 and 2 series Droids. However, it's Common is spoken is spoken in tones many humans would consider strange.
