Background

Ra’leah Morr is the daughter of the leader of her family’s head-clan. As a child, she was very young and optimistic, blind to the real world struggles twi'leks often face. However, the Morr Clan was known on Ryloth as being the family with the strongest warriors. They were responsible for training and collecting weapons and armor for twi'lek warriors. As a young child, Ra'leah often watched her family as they trained other warriors, and over time it became clear she had a natural gift for sword fighting.

Though her family never wanted her to fight, Ra'leah often found herself beating others while sparring, often going a little too far. When she was a teenager, she had become friends with Thandor Lon, the son of the leader for another family in Ryloth. Ra'leah appreciated Thandor's calm nature, and spent most of her time trying to get him to be a better fighter. One day when they were walking around their district they noticed Thandor's father walking into a seemingly abandoned building. They carefully followed him only to find him in a secret meeting with Ra'leah's father and the leaders of other head-clans in the city. The leaders were in a room full of female twi'leks who were all forced to dance for them, and it became clear that they were choosing which ones to sell to a weapons dealer from another planet. Full of shock, the two ran off and Ra'leah found herself searching through her father's office for evidence of the slave business. Though she couldn't find anything, she did find his calendar which said he was getting lunch with Lon. These meetings happened every week at the same time.

Ra'leah and Thandor were unsure of what to do, but feared what would happen if they exposed their family. Would they believe them? Were they also in on it? But Ra'leah could not just sit by. After years of her family raising her to believe that she was entitled to all the privileges and luxuries of this life, she couldn't understand why her father would be involved in such a despicabe business. To collect foreign weapons? Were these weapons worth people's right to live freely?

Thandor and Ra'leah soon decided to expose their fathers for their slave trading business. They decided to write letters to the people in their family they trusted the most with the date/time of these secret lunch meetings, a detailed directions to the building location. Ra'leah wrote this letter to her younger sister, and Thandor wrote his letter to his brother. Ra'leah had heard of plans to send young warriors to a neighboring planet for them to continue their training, and thought it would be best to stowaway on the ship.

On their way to the ship, Thandor's brother, Lian Lon, along with a group of mercenaries welcomed them at the dock. Ra'leah, always ready for a fight drew her family's vibrosword and readied herself to attack. The mercenaries began to run at her with their weapons while Lian ran straight for Thandor. She began to fight off the group of 7 mercenaries, but before she could overcome them, Lian was already running off with a knocked out Thandor. Angry at her best friend being taken, Ra'leah goes into a blind rage knocking out each of the opponents and killing one. When she is down to the last member of the mercenary group, she insists she tells her where they took Thandor. "Oh I don't know, our business is done here. As soon as the Lon boy got out of here he threw our payment. We were only being paid to capture him, but I don't know what they were planning to do with him."

Ra'leah raised her sword to strike the leader down, but before she knew it everything went black. She wakes up, not knowing where she is. But she quickly realizes that she is on a moving ship. She jumps up only to see the leader she thought she had killed staring at her. "I was wondering when you were going to wake," the leader says. Ra'leah starts to lunge towards her but realizes she is trapped in what seems to be a prisoner's cell of some sort.

"All right, so here's the deal. We're on our way to Rodia for a job, but after your little performance on Ryloth we are down a member of our team and it wouldn't look good for the Seven Sirens, to be six, ya know?"
Ra'leah glares at the stranger confused about what's happening.
The leader continues to talk: "Look, I know you don't like us right now, but it looks like you were trying to escape Ryloth anyways, and we helped you. And you don't really have many options, so how about you help us with this job and I'll accept it as payment for the free trip."

[The truth of the matter is that the leader, Daia Shyn, was shocked at how powerful of a fighter Ra'leah was. At the ship dock, one of the Sirens who Ra'leah had knocked out had gotten back up and stuck up on Ra'leah to stick her with a neurotoxin. Not the way she wanted to recruit a new member, but the sirens were known across the galaxy for their work, and if Ra'leah could kill one of them, then she was definitely worth joining.]

Daia walks off after releasing Ra'leah from her restraints and locks the door behind her. Ra'leah shuffles up off of the ground looking for ways to get out of there. She weighs her options

--she could escape and take over the ship? She doesn't know much but she had been taking piloting lessons recently. But the Sirens definitely have the advantage on their own ship.
--she could just sit and not say anything until they land, then try to make a run for it, or...
--she could join them. Maybe she could pretend to get along with them and get into some of the real fights she had been craving her whole life since her parents would never let her see a battlefield... but that seems crazy. She needs to find Thandor. What happened to him? His father wouldn't kill him right? Would he send him off Ryloth as a slave? Would he imprison him? She has to find out but she can't exactly go home. If the Sirens were on Ryloth already doing business with the Lons then they must have a contact who can tell her what happend to Thandor.

As Ra'leah's mind continues to race, she notices that the ship is starting to descend. It's time to make her decision...

Fast forward ten years, Ra'leah has gained a reputation for being the strongest fighter amongst the sirens. She has grown close to the Sirens, but no closer to finding Thandor. Though she often feels more like a prisoner than a member, she has developed a love for fighting. After about a year she gained their trust, and the Sirens shared a tip they received from one of their Ryloth contacts that Thandor had been shipped off from Ryloth soon after being captured. He could be anywhere. She heard nothing about her family, so she assumed her sister, Syn'deah, had kept the secret or she never received the letter. Maybe her sister was in on it all along, like Lian.

She told herself that she was staying with the Sirens because she loved the freedom of being able to fight with no restrictions, but the truth was that she was obsessed with the hope of finding Thandor on one of the many planets they traveled to. After years of no luck, Ra'leah is 26 years old and back on Rodia where it all began.

One day, while Ra'leah was roaming around Rodia, she sees another twi'lek who looks like her sister. She starts to run after her, but gets distracted when she hears Daia calling after her. They just received details for their new job on Rodia, and she wants Ra'leah to scout out the location they were told to go.
