Background

Formerly built as a pleasure droid for the Hutt Cartel, Starlight is a quite unique droid, capable of indulging to certain "mortal pleasures" that are typically denied to her fellow machines. However, having grown to find her life in slavery to be undesirable and seeking to be free, she eventually managed to achieve her freedom and had her restraining bolt removed. Having been found, repaired and suffering some adjustments for combat, she has become a new recruit for the Rebel Alliance, and now willingly fights alongside them. Along with the wish for a safer, just galaxy, she also desires to improve herself while working with the Alliance, so that she can never again be forced to do things against her will.

Motivation

Starlight's personal motivation comes in the form of Freedom. Not only of herself or the galaxy, but also of her fellow droids. She has a hard time understanding why droids would be created with emotions only to be made into slaves, and typically finds it hard to ignore their plight. She may often go out of her way to help set them free.

Duties

Combat Victory: The Player Character is driven to show that the Alliance can hold its own against Imperial forces in any troop vs. troop engagement. He wants to engage the Empire’s military—their best, whenever possible—and provide more victories for the Alliance to tout to the galaxy as proof it can ultimately win the war. This means daring raids, excellent tactics, and acquiring the best firepower possible.

Description

Standing at a total height of five feet and four inches, Starlight has the physical attibute of a droid that was very clearly built to be a pleasure droid from the beginning. However, due to extensive modifications, her body was adapted to be more survivable and capable of enduring combat. That did not however remove much of her charm, and she is still something of a curious, if not attractive sight to those with a mind for droids. Her hull is primarily white, painted with dark grey and blue patterns. Her eyes are glowing blue and can be easily perceived even in the dark. Parts such as the inside of her mouth are dark blue with a cyan glow. Having a humanoid figure, she does have a few things that stand out from them however. She lacks feet, having instead a set of wheels beneath the pointed ends of her legs. The wings mounted upon her body seem to move around and shift according to her humor and reactions, but do not currently seem to actually function for flight.

Having a sharp, witty and sassy sense of humor, Starlight can either be a very charming and charismatic companion or a very irritating foe. She's fond of teasing her allies and socializing with them, while at the same time being fond of taunting her foes and trying to get on their nerves. Despite her laid-back and calm attitude, she has a strong sense of duty and behaves in a surprisingly humane way, associating some of that to the unique traits of the body she was built with. She often proves to be a courageous and brave woman in battle, and is willing to do her part for the Rebellion as much as any other soldier.

"Survivalist" Mess Kit - This set of utensils, pots and pans designed by Survivalist Equipment Inc. is for those weight-conscious explorers.

Beast Call - This is a simple piece of equipment used to hunt and trap animals. Using pre-recorded audio of a beast, they can attract the actual beast. Enc + 1

CorChemCo Fire Paste (x10) - This is a chemical putty that can ignite or serve a source of fire in an emergency. Can ignite any flammable object. Can burn for an hour at intensity of a campfire in atmosphere (without any additional fuel).

Entrenching Tool - This is a critical tool for most combat units, usually collapsible and easily carried. Encumbrance 1. Can build certain fortifications. Melee weapon as well (Melee, +2 Dmg, 4 Crit).

Saladar Systems PED-21 Distress Beacon - Used by many explorers, the distress beacon ensures that even if one ends up in need of assistance - there's the slightest chance one will be rescued (as opposed to no chance). Add 2 boost dice to Perception, Computers or Surveillance checks to find user. Encumbrance 1.

Fabritech CN-21 Camouflage Paint - This thick paint comes in small tubes, used to camouflage exposed skin or weaponry - anything that is small enough to cover effectively. The paint contains photoreactive pigments which match its surroundings. Add 1 automatic failure result to checks made to visually detect items concealed by it. Only works for items silhouette 1 or smaller.

BlasTech Model 58 Concealment Holster - This compact holster is built to help a small blaster's concealment, while also providing for an easy drawing and holstering when faced with hostile action. Starlight uses it to attach and hide her blaster pistol atop her right forearm.

Cultural Etiquette Manual - Protocol droids are often used to cover one's negotiations with foreign cultures and species, however, the droids may at times be unavailable or culturally offensive. In those situations, maintaining etiquette is still paramount, and these manuals cover that. This one covers Human cultures.

Datapad - This is a form of handheld device incorporating a variety of functions, such as holo-messenger, computer, database and so on. 1 Encumbrance.

Data Goggles - These goggles will overlay information from the HoloNet and other electronic sources into a wearer's field of vision. These are typically used by students, and the instructor may transfer new information as they progress. Select 1 knowledge skill at the beginning of the encounter. Add 1 automatic success result to all checks made using that skill while wearing the goggles for the duration of the encounter.

Extra Reload - All weapons run out of ammunition at some point, such as gas for energy weapons and kinetic reloads. They allow a character to reload their weapon using a maneuver, when it has run out of ammo due to a critical failure. 1 Enc.

Load-Bearing Gear - More than a backpack, this is a mesh worn on the body to which are attached multiple pockets and holsters. Typically used by military groups and squads on long-range missions. Increases encumbrance threshold by 3.

Rim Excursions Inc. Military Belt Pouch - This pouch, attached to one's belt, is designed for quick and easy access - to be used in the midst of battle where each second is valuable. Hold 2 items with encumbrance 0. May be drawn as an incidental.*

Comlink - This piece of gear is used to communicate between other comlinks. The handheld versions are only viable for extreme distances on planets, reaching up to low orbit. However, long range versions can usually reach the entire planet in range.*

Bacta - Healing powers! 1 Liter.

Hand Scanner- These are specific scanners to a certain piece of data, such as detecting gasses, medical conditions and so on. They are handheld.*
