Background

Miles Orion was a talented Rebel Bounty Hunter, known for sending many Imperial Officers to Sunspot Prison. After careful planning, the Empire set a trap for him, using the head of IMDAWR as bait. An opportunity too good to pass up, the Rebellion sent him despite the risks. This mission ended up in his "death" at the hands of the Empire. In reality, this trap resulted in Miles being mortally wounded. Comatose and barely alive, the Empire placed him in a bacta tank and had him shipped deep into Imperial Space.

Unable to interrogate him without killing him, the Empire's creative solution was to copy his mind into a new form of Imperial Police Droid. This proved immediately problematic, as he still resisted interrogation but couldn't be physically tortured. The solution created by the Empire was to fragment Miles' psyche, allowing them to isolate his memories and make him believe whatever they wanted.

This gave the Empire a killer with the skills and intelligence to take out key targets within the rebellion, one they did not have to recover as they could simply split his psyche again and have another copy at the ready. This imperfect process left traces of Miles' identity with each copy.

One of these copies, for reasons unknown, had Miles' memories blocked instead of removed. This copy was sent to assassinate a Rebel Commander and one of Miles' former friends. After completing his mission and seeing his friend killed by his hand, Miles was able to override the Imperial programming. Horrified by his actions, Miles escaped, disappearing into the Outer Rim, far from both Rebel and Imperial control.

Hunted by the Empire, Miles is determined to track down his body and remove himself from Imperial shackles by any means necessary.

Description

Other Notes

Special Abilities:
- Droids do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, and are unaffected by toxins or poisons. Droids have a cybernetic implant cap of 6 instead of their Brawn rating. In addition, after selecting their career, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in six of the eight career skills (instead of the usual four). After selecting their first specialization, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in three of the four specialization skills (instead of the usual two).

- Inorganic: Since droids are inorganic, they do not gain the benefits of recovering with a bacta tank, stimpack, or Medicine skill checks. Droids do recover naturally by resting, as their systems attempt self-repairs. Otherwise, droids need to be tended to with a Mechanics check, using the same difficulties and results of Medicine checks for organic beings. Emergency repair patches can be used to repair damage just like stimpacks are used on organic beings. See page 220 for more on droid repairs and healing. Due to their resilient metallic construction, droids start the game with one rank in the Enduring talent.

- Mechanical Being: Droids cannot become Force sensitive, nor acquire a Force Rating by any means. Droids cannot use Force powers, and also cannot be affected by mind-altering Force powers.
