B'Tell lived a relatively normal life on Toola, before fur traders making trades with his tribe offered to pay him to be a bodyguard. From there he hopped from employer to employer for ~70 years(99 years old by the end of it), he was hired by the CIS for a search and rescue mission on Toola in the dead of winter. However, due to the harsh environment and fauna of the planet, he was unable to successfully finish the mission, only being able to bring back frozen corpses and report that the crew he was sent out with died on the way. Following that the CIS held a debt over his head if he wanted his payment: do a series of missions for them elsewhere, ranging from killings to assisting on the front lines to espianage. His next mission will be his final mission.

Greed(?) - While appearing as greed and desire for money to an outsider, from B'Tell's point of view, he's doing what he can to survive. He is a staunch individualist, only truly caring for his own survival.
