Background
"Dames. Two legs (sometimes), a pretty pair of eyes (less often than I'd like), and a heap of trouble every time one walks into my office. If I had two credits to rub together, I wouldn't even bother with 'em. But seeing as how I don't have pockets, any credits I make tend to find legs pretty quickly.
One smoky afternoon, she walks in. Hubby's stepping out, kid's in with some swoop bike gang, sister into a Hutt for a pile of credits. Which one didn't matter. She was paying, and I was looking to work. Somebody had to keep the lights on, anyway. May as well be this one.
Least that's the way I thought till a week later, when some Trandoshan has me up against a wall with a vibroknife to my processor. Says I should keep my nose outta his boss's business. Tried cracking wise, tell him I don't have a nose. Trandoshans aren't usually as quick on the uptake for sarcasm. Lucky me, I get the one who found a clue on his way to shaking down civilians, that day.
Next thing I know, I'm talking out loud every thought I have. And that saxophone music only seems to change when I talk like this."

Motivation
Former Nemesis- See obligation. They may not actively sabotage each other, but they still compete for contracts.
Obligations
Antagonist- 20 obligation-- Another self-aware droid, R-4IN5, long dogged 5-P4DE's early career in tracking down leads and bounties. R-4 had a habit of ganking 5-P's bounties, in particular. Though an understanding was eventually reached (after a really pissed off Hutt got involved, of all things), they still regard each other with civility, tempered with suspicion. When neither are on a job, however, they get along famously, if competively.
Description
5-P4DE (Spade) is a LOM droid, awakened and given a bounty hunter license as a skip tracer-- he tracks down the missing, the fleeing, or the estranged for credits. A particularly spiteful bounty rabbited on him, and got the drop on 5-P4DE when he gave chase. To screw with his contractors, the bounty repro'd 5-P4DE to talk exclusively like a noir detective, narrating his own mystery hard-boiled mystery novel. Spade caught on before long, and leaned into his newfound quirk, playing jazzy (*jazz,* never jizz) saxophone at dramatic moments and recording the voiceover for actual mystery novel publication at a later date. He wears a trenchcoat (the greatcoat), a fedora, and for some reason carries a small twig which he sparks to ember for dramatic effect.
