Background
Having lost his family at the age of 8, The Umbaran was taken in by a family of Chevin who raised him alongside their own children and treated him like one of their own. Awed and inspired by their generosity, The Umbaran decided to venture out to the big city with the intent of paying back his adopted family for all the years they raised and cared for him. However, life on Kraton is not that simple and the Umbaran found himself working for the merchant guild as a droid tech. He labored away for years in a dank basement in a forgotten corner of the city barely making subsistence wages which payed for his small apartment.
Still wishing to pay back his family, The Umbaran began to take up a life of small, victimless crimes. The Umbaran modified the merchant guild's transaction protocol droids to skim 1/10th of a credit from every transaction they performed. Slowly, The Umbaran began to amass enough wealth to send a few credits back to his family every month. However, it was still not enough and soon The Umbaran found himself working on small projects for a local crime syndicate via his contact, The Gank.
Motivation
The Umbaran was saved only by the kindness of strangers. In return, The Umbaran seeks to bestow kindness back upon the world. Though he does not have much, The Umbaran is always looking for ways to give back. And he doesn't mind stooping to less than legal means, as long as no one gets hurt.
Obligations
The Umbaran adopted his family as much as his family adopted him. But this family is as much a burden now as it was a salvation for The Umbaran. In addition to paying them back (voluntarily) for their good deed, The Umbaran's family cares deeply about him and tries to be as close to him as possible at all times.

The Umbaran's jumpsuit is provided by his employer, Eros Droid Doctors. It bears their logo, a stylized EDD, in the form of a patch above the left breast as well as a large full sized logo with the full name centered on the back. It also bears The Umbaran's name in Basic above the right breast. The suit is two-toned in a dull grey and blue and has some oil stains from years of droid tech work. The sleek jumpsuit is only broken up by a loosely fitting yellow utility belt.
The Umbaran's SH-9 is a sleek slugthrower made of anodized metal and has been dyed a dark, midnight black. It bears a few scratches from the previous owner which reveal a shining chrome underneath, and mild wear around the slide, grip, and edges of the integrated silencer.
