Background

Umoka Tuqo (Kaarz) (A Mirialan) was sent off planet with her uncle when her mother knew she was about to be arrested by the Empire. Her uncle's ship was boarded by imperial storm troopers and Umoka was taken into custody and sold into slavery with a band of Klatoonians by the Empire. Soon after that her mother, Teela Kaarz  who was made a political prisoner and who worked as a minor architect on the first Death Star, was put to death for helping to sabotage the first death star by simply overlooking some flaws that allowed it to be destroyed with a simple chain reaction.
Umoka escaped from slavery when she stowed away in a cargo container, but that ship was attacked and the cargo was then captured by pirates. After being discovered in the cargo by the Pirates, they decided to put her to work on their ship, after a few years she earned her chance to be trained as a fighter. She owes a life debt to the pirates who not only taught her to use a blaster and trained her in the use of explosives, but also saved her life many times over the years.

Motivation

Umoka hates the Empire. They destroyed her family, killed her uncle and her mother and sold her to slavers.

Obligations

Umoka has obligations to a group of pirates that rescued her from slavery and trained her to be a fighter. She also has a price on her head from the Klatoonians that were planning to sell her.
