Background

Emilenir Seyzoe was early on recognized as a rising star within the Imperial Navy. He seemed to have an uncanny ability to mentally holo-chess the various outcomes of a battle engagement to conclude on the most likely outcome. Armed with that knowledge, he would position himself to be in the right place at the right time to shove the conclusion in the direction he desired.

Commander Seyzoe is ultimately a man of peace. His interest in the perfection of war is to end battles quickly with the most decisive outcome possible, with the ultimate intent of ending the over-all war. Once the Empire was defeated, he immediately switched sides, using his knowledge, talents and training to assist in the Republic's mop-up operations; the faster to end the destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy.

His desire to swiftly end a fight with the lowest casualty count possible means he has few qualms on "dirty play" ... but never unless the long-term outcome of not doing so is worse than the short-term cost of the tactic in question.

Once the Empire had fallen, he encountered a Jedi who identified him as an Emergent Force Sensitive. This makes "sense" (for a loose definition of sense), as he has always had "a feeling" when something was going to go badly in battle.

The character believes in relying on himself. He does not count on others to perform tasks for him, instead, he ensures he can handle any situation he encounters. He refuses to be a burden on others.

# Duty: COMBAT VICTORY (10)
The Player Character is driven to show that the JOR can hold its own against Imperial Remnant forces in any troop vs. troop engagement. He wants to engage the Remnant Empire's military—their best, whenever possible—and provide more victories for the New Republic and the Jedi to tout to the galaxy as proof it can ultimately keep it's worlds and citizens safe. This means daring raids, excellent tactics, and acquiring the best firepower possible.

... Seyzoe is a man of Peace. Swift victory, minimal casualties, and longest peace are by his committed assistance to the Jedi.
So, he is doing what it is he can; winning battles is what he can do best.
