Former slave for the hutts turned pirate.
If you met Saanda Yerg in a bar somewhere in the galaxy he would talk your ears off about all the stories of his daring pirate adventures during the era of the republic clone wars, many of them being true so he says. But in the era of this new empire he's known by most as a washed up has-been of a pirate.
Before he was a pirate he was a slave in a mining operation for the hutts, he escaped and began working small time on different crews until he hit it big on a job raiding a separatist banking ship. He bought his own ship hired his own crew and started playing both sides of the war. It was all going great until the stupid Jedi had to go and get themselves killed, the new ruthless empire caught him on what was supposed to be an easy job and he was left with nothing.
It turned out his first mate had sold him out to the empire and stole his flagship and his crew.
