Background
Renfri Verrun grew up amidst the battlefields and refugee camps of the clone wars. Forced to steal and beg to survive, in her adolescence she fell in with a band of pirates and revolutionaries known as the Cloud Riders. As the Cloud Riders expanded and waged their war agains the Empire, Renfri grew into a formidable pirate in her own right. Now known as Shrike and serving as second mate to an off-shoot band of the cloud riders, she carved herself a fearsome reputation in a half-dozen systems.
All good things come to and end, however. A few months ago, Shrike's band of pirates caught the attention of the Illuminator Fleet. The subsequent Imperial assault was devastating, and Shrike was the lone survivor, left missing a hand and barely alive in a cloaked escape pod, drifting for weeks before rescue by a small band of rebels. Sweeping the nearby area, Shrike found another survivor of a different purge: Achilles, a long lost aquaintance from her refuggee childhood, now a Mandalorian. Joining forces, the pair have drifted the galaxy. Shrike has now tracked the Illuminator Fleet to Daalang, hoping to build a pirate crew of her own - then use it for revenge on the Empire.
Motivation
Glory and Revenge.
Shrike has big dreams: a pirate fleet of her own, and a reputation that spans the Galaxy.
More recently, her dreams have been tempered by a burning hatred of the Empire, and loyalty to the cloud riders and the wider Rebellion they represent.
Shrike follows Xhaxin's dozen rules of privateering. She has also read the Book of Hondo (viewing it as amusing trash)
Obligations
Total: 13
Bad Reputation: 5 (Pirate)
A Score to Settle - 5 (The Illuminator Fleet)
Oath - 1 (the rebellion)
Service - 2 (Queen Shirva)
Shrike is a pirate to her core, and makes that obvious with her outfit and behaviour. Her Bad Reputation is enough that it might inconvenience (or benefit) her. Beyond that, her specific history with the cloud raiders and other pirate groups may come into play: Shrike lost her hand and her crew to the Illuminator fleet, and she has a Score to Settle. She has aquired a letter of marque from the Rebellion, and is obigated to keep to its terms.
Description
A tall and lithe Zabrak, whose lank black hair frames a plain, weatherbeaten face. Her outfit resembles a mashup between a flight suit, a piratical greatcoat, and tribal war regalia. Charms and pendants hang alongside spacers implements and weapons of war.
Her hand is currently a seared off stump, and her gaze is hard and calculating. Here stands a survivor.
