Background
Vivian was born on Coruscant, where her parents have set up a manufactorium. As Squibs are often employed on Imperial ships to work with the junk and trash anyway, they set up a special deal with some of the local imperial factories, where they work on the factories’ scraps and vehicles that need repairs. As such, her parents became quite wealthy with their own little company, and Vivian was expected to join the company and become part of it.
However, as she grew up, she did show interest in her parent’s job, but not so much in how to repair something, but rather in how to operate the vehicles. In order to keep their daughter safe, her parents gifted her a simulator to learn how to drive and pilot, until she was old enough to get her official piloting license. From then on, she got employed in her parent’s company at an easy job, where she could earn money without ever really needing to fear getting fired. Her job was to take repaired vehicles for a test ride, in order to make sure they were working well.
At first Vivian did just that, but she quickly wanted to get more out of her life than immediately ending up in a well paid job, with the promise that she, together with her siblings, could take over the company later on. She wanted adventure, she wanted accomplishment, and she knew one thing that she was good at: Piloting. Especially piloting fast things. And as such she said goodbye to her parents and left Coruscant to journey into the galaxy, wanting to become a Pod Racer.
A new girl, fresh into the Outer Rim with no name to herself, was not able easily gain access to the big races though. But as she ended up in Oogwa, she did end up in a talk with the local Hutt lord. Thanks to her heritage, she knew how to haggle and she striked a deal with the Hutt: He’d give her a speeder bike and sign her up for one of the low-class races, those that newsters like her could sign up to. If she was to get to one of the first three places, she’d give him the winning money but be allowed to keep the speeder. If she lost, she’d work for him till she had paid off double her debt. Of course, since the amount of money that was involved there were mere peanuts for a Hutt Lord, and since he apparently liked her attitude, he agreed. And at the race, Vivian ended up being 2nd. True to the deal, she gave the entire winning money to the Hutt, and stays in good contact with him, having made clear that she doesn’t want to kill anyone, but is more than happy to help him in the future with courier jobs and similar.
