Background
Relationship with the Empire: Visionary Opportunists
Joining the Rebellion: Battlefield Leader
Background:
Born into a military and political family on Coruscant, Talley was born to Krage and Liana Darkstar three years after the Trade Federation was stopped at the Battle of Naboo, the same battle of Naboo where and when Palpatine got elected as Supreme Chancellor. His family comes from a long line of service men and women and can trace his family lineage quite far back, as Senators and diplomats on his father’s side and bodyguards and military servicemen on his mother’s side. In fact, that’s how his parents met. His father was a diplomat; his mother was his father’s bodyguard. Talley was born and bred in the ideals of the Republic. He and his family witnessed the rise of Palpatine, the Clone Wars and the extermination of the Jedi and the rise of the Rebel Alliance.
But Palpatine changed all that. Now, Talley is a hardened soldier for the Rebel Alliance; nothing will stand in his, or his squad’s way of returning peace to the galaxy or die trying to protect those they serve. He has continued in his father’s footsteps by serving all manner of aliens and humans alike for the freedom of all. Though he does believe in the Republic, he’s not stupid and knows that even good people are not always good and has seen many friends whose ideals were the same as his, commit terrible acts and he too has committed things that he’s not proud of. It is something everyone must do every day especially in this day and age. He believes that order is paramount to returning the galaxy to its former glory, he believes all species should be a part of that change, not just one so-called “emperor”.
At the time of hearing of the Corellian Resistance, Talley started planning on joining them, but he knew that if he just up and moved there, he and his family could be threatened by the Empire, so he had to legitimize moving to Corellia and for the next couple of years by making connections with some Corellians.
A few years later, when the Alliance to Restore the Republic was formed from the Corellian Treaty, Talley joined the Rebel Alliance, he, just like others who joined had his specialty, his was natural born leadership, tactics and strategy, little did he know, that those things would pay off later in his life as a soldier for the Alliance. When he joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic, his squad and his superiors were amazed at how well he theorized enemy movements and how he would direct the rest of his squad and was quickly transferred to Alliance Special Forces Cobalt Squad and for the next couple of years, Talley and Cobalt Squad struck against the Empire. Soon after, Talley was offered a position within SpecForce.
Episode I:
Hidden Allies
Six months after the destruction of the Death Star, the Order of the Lost, a small group of Force-sensitives on the planet of Dantooine, recently discovered that an Inquisitor was in their midst and sent word of the Order’s existence back to the Empire. Even though the group isn't very powerful the Empire views any such group as a threat, so there is still a grave risk of these Force-sensitives being corrupted, or worse. Some of the members, Antietam, Ji: Embek, Verkholt, Li'Sa have sent word to the Rebel Alliance that they have a tool that can be used to help eliminate the threat to the galaxy the Empire poses. Eager for any advantage they can get, the Rebel High Command sends in Cobalt Squad to eliminate the Imperial threat to the Order of the Lost. The battle starts off well with Cobalt Squad successfully pulling an attacking squad of stormtroopers away from the camp of Force-sensitives, but quickly shifts balance. The stormtrooper squad rallies and nearly eliminates all of Cobalt Squad, leaving only Talley, Mika, Yonayawisgi, and Zuko, and once again endangering the Order.
The Balmorra Runners, two brothers, Captain Jake and Jedrek Brimstar, who lost all they had to the Empire, Si-Gwa, who dared to steal from Teemo the Hutt, and Kerrek, who made a deal with Teemo for some information, found themselves under the employ of Teemo. Thoroughly disgruntled by each of their situations they resigned themselves to their fate of possibly never leaving their employer and take up yet another smuggling job for the crime lord.
Thankfully the Will of the Force has other plans for all three groups.

Episode IX:
(Title)
A week later, the Balmorra Runners and the Order of the Lost land at Whisper Base and are taken into custody by the Rebel Alliance. They explain that they are here to see Talley and Mika Darkstar. Major Lon Tharik, the newly appointed base commander, calls for Talley and Mika and explains the situation, asking for the Squad’s input. Talley and Mika tell Major Tharik that they're no threat to the Alliance and recount their previous experiences with them, that the Order were the ones that called upon the Rebel Alliance for help against being exterminated by the Empire and that the Balmorra Runners were the ones that saved the Cobalt Squad survivors. Major Tharik informs the security chief to release the new arrivals and take them into the conference room. Both the Balmorra Runners and the Order arrive there, noticing that security is still being kept quite high. When Cobalt Squad walks in Talley smiles sincerely at the new arrivals and tells them it’s good to see them again, and asks them how and why the two groups found Cobalt Squad. Each group catches one another up on their adventures since parting ways (Beginner Games and follow-up adventures) before formally asking the Rebel Alliance for help. The Order informs Cobalt Squad that they have yet another tool to help the Rebel Alliance defeat the Empire: a Jedi Holocron. The Order also finally reveals to the Squad and the Balmorra Runners that the real reason the Empire was after them is that they’re an order of Force-sensitives. Jake asks Talley about the security sweeps that Jake notices as they all make their way to the briefing room. Talley tells them that their current base used to be a secret Imperial listening post, and that Cobalt Squad was sent in to take the base over, and that even having succeeded the Alliance’s foothold on Onderon is still tenuous. Major Tharik walks in and asks to speak to Talley and the Squad, so Talley tell the others that the base’s Quartermaster will help them get settled. After the Balmorra Runners and the Order leave and Tharik asks for Cobalt Squad’s opinion on the situation. Talley suggests that the Balmorra Runners and the Order of the Lost could be useful allies in their fight against the Empire. While rogues, the Balmorra Runners could help procure new and additional resources the Alliance could use. As for the Order of the Lost, despite the official statement made by the Emperor that the Jedi Order were trying to overthrow the Republic, Talley’s own father was assured by Senator Organa that it wasn’t true. The Order could help bring peace back to the galaxy as the Jedi Order once did. Tharik reluctantly agrees, and Talley informs his new allies let them know that they’d found the help they’d sought.…
Motivation
Drive - The Mission: The current assignment or mission drives Talley. He stops at nothing to see that the orders he's been given are carried out, and carried out well. He doesn't give up easily, and he is considered to be a tenacious warrior by the troops who serve under him.
Drive - Subordinates: The people who serve under Talley are his sole motivation. He always keeps their best interests in mind, fosters their talents and tries to ensure they have an opportunity to grow as soldiers. He's also a stickler for accountability; when his troops don't perform to his expectations, he's certain to let them know.
Duties
Duty
Combat Victory: 0
Talley is driven to show that the Alliance can hold its own against Imperial forces in any troop versus troop engagement. He wants to engage the Empire’s military – their best, whenever possible – and provide more victories for the Alliance to tout to the galaxy as proof it can ultimately win the war. This means daring raids, excellent tactics, and acquiring the best firepower possible. Not only is victory in battle necessary to the continued success of the Rebel Alliance, but it is also a measuring stick by which Commanders are judged against their peers. Commanders must lead their troops successfully for them to win, and troops' failures on the battlefield are inevitably linked to their Commander's failure to lead them.
Support: 0
Talley's biggest assets are the troops who serve in his unit. He believes that by supporting his troops, they can increase the combat effectiveness of their unit and ensure that trust and morale are properly maintained. He must be approachable, even by the lowliest private, and he must learn what drives his troops-their thoughts, fears, desires, and goals, both as individuals and as Rebels. By helping his people achieve their goals, he makes his units stronger and better able to meet the challenges posed by the Imperial war machine.
