Ambition -- Love
Owen might not look it, and he might do his best to not seem it, but his whole life he's been searching for a place to feel like he is welcome. While ultimately after love in its most traditional sense, "belonging" might be a more apt label for what drives Owen.
A very real example of this distinction is Owen's service to the Republic - while not overly patriotic, he believes that they are doing good in the galaxy and feels that, by helping them as he is bound to do, he might just find a place where he feels safe to be emotionally vulnerable: a true family.
Obligations
Betrayal - 10
Owen's old love has betrayed in in almost all the ways possible to betray a man: she used him, toyed with his feelings, damaged his already questionable ability to function as an emotionally healthy adult, and literally left him for dead after shooting him multiple times in the torso. The worst part? She's still out there, and is wiling to do anything for money - even side with the Seperatists, something she'll have to do more of after being blacklisted by the Republic.
Dutybound - 10
To work off his crimes and remain "not a threat to Republic security", Owen is sworn to work as an agent of the Galactic Republic. While a task he enjoys, it isn't something he necessarily takes to eagerly. Still, he's obligated by both law and his word to remain a dedicated intelligence agent, a position the Republic finds itself ever in need of.
