Roolek was born on the planet Rodia into a Rodian clan of the same name. In his youth, a brutal clan war destroyed his clan and Roolek became a refugee passing between systems. (He takes his clan name as his given name and prefers his true give name remain unknown.) In his days as a refugee, Roolek frequently met Imperial agents across the galaxy and quickly came to dislike them. Often he found himself in the cold confines of Imperial holding cells or detention centers.
