Background
Flitting from shadow to shadow, a young Koto Valorre etched out a meager living among the criminal underworld of Daalang III. He was not a native resident to the planet. Koto once lived aboard his parents merchant frigate, the Amber Fang, which had diverted to Daalang III to resupply during one of their trade runs. Koto watched as Imperial forces arrested his parents on suspicion of being Rebel sympathizers. Koto was struck frozen with fear, as he saw his father and mother brutally beaten with stun batons by the Imperial troopers. The last thing he heard was his mothers voice, calling for him to run and hide.
In the following years, Koto honed his affinity for remaining unseen, as it was his only means of survival. Koto would became an infiltrator, working for the local gangs and crime bosses. After deftly completing his task, he would take his payment and vanish once more. Secrecy and discretion were his tools, and the shadows were his home.
Motivation
Koto has many goals and things he strives for. Growing up surrounded by poverty and crime, he seeks stability within his life. He wishes to make a name for himself, so he will no longer be beaten by those larger and tougher than him. Koto wishes for enough credits to keep a roof over his head and food in his belly. Koto wishes for strength, so he can cast off his obligations to the criminal underworld. Above all else, Koto desires companionship. His childhood was lonely and filled with fear. The closest friend he ever had would certainly stab him in the back with a vibroblade if it meant a pocket full of credits. Koto wants someone he can trust, someone who has his back through any and all adversity. Koto wants freedom from the fear he has carried with him his whole life. In Koto's heart, he is still the frightened little boy in the shadows watching his parents arrested. He is still the scared child scrounging for scraps of food in the wake of oppression. Koto wants to move on from his past, and finally emerge from the shadow of his childhood. His only way forward, is for him to discover what fate befell his parents.
Morality
Emotional Strength: Compassion
Koto has faced significant hardship in his past. He can come off as jaded and somber. He is however not unkind. Koto understands that there are those who are unable to care for themselves. Koto does what he can to help provide for the downtrodden and impoverished. He knows the pain of going another night without food, and the helplessness that comes with an uncaring society. He will stand up for the street urchins and the beggars of the world. He wants to be there for those without hope.
Emotional Weakness: Fear
Koto lived in the shadows of society for years. He could have reached out for help, but he feared the Imperial authorities for what they did to his family. He could have sought sanctuary from the numerous merchants who visited the spaceports littering the planet, but he feared they would reject him for the urchin he now was. Koto lingered on the fringes of organized crime, desperate for the safety and resources they could provide, but he feared what he would become under their tutelage. Koto's childhood was one of fear and pain, and it continues to haunt him to this day.
Description
Koto Vallore is a young human male of maybe 16 or 17 years of age. He is small of stature, with a lithe yet wiry frame. His fair skin is marred with numerous scars, showing the hardships of his youth. His raven colored hair has obviously not seen a comb in recent memory. Large blue eyes peer out from behind his scattered bangs.
He wears a black vest, well worn from his life on the streets, and a keen eye would spot small armored plating sewn within. He straps another armored plate along his left forearm. He walks with a small satchel draped over the shoulder, and has no obvious form of weaponry.
