Teelo was born on Procopia in the Tapani Sector. House Bryce was a minor noble house that made connections with the Empire early on in the hopes of advancing the House's standing. They succeeded and did well during the Imperial period up until the time of the Galactic Civil War.

After the Empire fell, so did the fortunes of House Bryce. Like many of the other Houses, Bryce sided with Moff Gustavu when he made his bid for a slice of Palpatine's Empire. Despite the support of many of the noble Houses, Gustavu was defeated by the New Republic. Ever the opportunists, House Bryce and many of the other Houses switched sides and nominally supported the New Republic; at least publicly. Bryce continued to hold Imperial sympathies and this was the environment Teelo was raised in.

Teelo grew up priveleged. House Bryce's mercantile interests kept them solvent and their profits, if not quite to the level they were during the Empire's reign, were at least comfortably constant. Teelo planned to take his place at his father's side when he came of age, but that was until the Force intervened.

Teelo's Force sensitivity was discovered by a Jedi passing through Procopia with a delegation of New Republic ambassadors. Teelo's parents were horrified when they were told. Teelo's life literally fell apart in a moment. His father disowned him on the spot and Teelo went with the Jedi having no other choice in his mind.

He fought against the training at first. His own anger and the betrayal of his parents interfered with the "peace" the Jedi wanted him to achieve. His frustration came to a head and he lashed out at another student, but was stopped by a Jedi who had been visiting the praxeum. The Jedi took Teelo into the jungle and slowly eased Teelo's pain out of him. Over the next few days, Teelo began to heal. The Jedi called himself Merrick and it would be the start of a sort of convergence between the two.

After his time in the jungle, Teelo began to excel in his studies. He gained an appreciation for defending those weaker and not just using them as a resource to be exploited. He further saw the positive influence the Jedi had upon the standing government of the New Republic. Like his parents, he had a very low opinion of the New Republic. He saw it as disorganized and unconcerned with the plight of the overlooked masses. He began to idolize Jedi like Kyp Durron who advocated for more direct Jedi involvement with government.

When the time came, Teelo became the padawan learner of Merrick. Since their time in the jungle, Teelo's views had diverged from Merrick's, but the tension between them served to push Teelo to be better. Merrick seemed to always have a way of getting to the heart of the matter and reveal things that Teelo had not considered. He respected his master; though begrudgingly. Where Merrick advocated for following the "will of the Force", Teelo's ambitions were leading him in the opposite direction.

Grandmaster Skywalker put forth a call to all Jedi to come to Coruscant. Merrick and Teelo had been dealing with a border dispute between factions in the Belbringi sector, but left it in the hands of the diplomatic delegation they were part of so they could answer the call...

Ambition- Teelo wants to position himself to influence the New Republic government like the Jedi of old. The true ambition behind this is to prove his parents wrong and show them the mistake they made by disowning him.

Pride/ Arrogance

Teelo is tall, standing 6'3" with a powerfully built physique. He is ruggedly handsome and makes sure he stays meticulously groomed. His robes are stylishly cut, dark colored, and generally in better condition than most other Jedi. His lightsaber is his pride and he displays it prominently. It is a large hilt, meant for a two-handed grip to better compliment his chosen lightsaber style of Form V. He keeps its dark metal highly polished to a mirror-like finish. The blade itself is a deep indigo blue.
