Hela's family operated a small shipping service with a contract from the planetary authorities on Berchest in service to the Empire. After discovering that the goods they were shipping included stolen resources and precious artifacts from the surface, they leaked their shipping logs and manifests onto the Holonet and attempted to pass the information directly to their senator. The senator was loyal to the empire however and turned them into the authorities, where they were swiftly executed as traitors. Hela and her sister Sosha were able to escape capture using their parents trading contacts and were able to establish a small smuggling business on their own.

Their support of local dissidents and rebel cells through their smuggling efforts protected them from law enforcement for a time, until Sosha decided that she could no longer live on the run. Losing hope and not wanting to end up like her parents, she agreed to expose the rebel cell in exchange for amnesty for herself and Hela. During the imperial ambush the entire rebel cell and other local activists and supporters were captured or killed, with Hela being the only one able to escape after confronting Sosha and learning she was the one responsible.

Hela is now on the run with no allies and no resources, and is hoping she can one day find her sister and help her redeem herself and her fallen comrades.

Comrades and Overthrow The Empire: She was very attached to her previous comrades in arms in their effort to undermine imperial authority. She hopes she can someday find new allies to depend on.

Family/Betrayal: She longs to find her sister someday and save her, somehow. She doesn't know where she is or how she can get her back.
