Background
After the battle of Naboo, new designs for an infantry droid for CIS due to the B1's requirement of a central computer. The B1/2 was one of the designs put forward. Designed by Argo Volcan, an engineer of renown, the design was rejected due to it's costly nature. However, a limited run of B1/2 prototypes were manufactured, unit B45-R0-Y116 was one of these units. Argo enraged by the rejection used the prototypes to try and sell the units to various buyers, but the cargo ship carrying them was attacked by his rivals and crashed on a backwater planet in the Outer Rim. Only B45-R0-Y116's central processor was undamaged and he eventually was activated by Argo. Together the two have traveled the Outer Rim working as Shipbreakers.
Motivation
R0Y's memory banks were severely fragmented by the crash and Argo wasn't able to completely restore them, as a result R0Y is unsure of his purpose and drifts aimlessly with Argo. However he does get brief flashes of clarity and these drive him towards discovering what he really is.
Obligations
Antique Collectible: Not only is he a battle droid, he's one of the few still operating and possesses very minor cosmetic faults. Also from a limited run of Battle Droids. A crowning jewel for any collector of Clone War memorbellia

While R0Y's base form is that of a B1/2 Battle Droid, Argo has taken pains to conceal his creation's true form by wrapping R0Y in a thick cloak and bulking up his form through removable cosmetic plates.
