Background
As an astromech, R5 units are quite common in the galaxy. While they are typically used to pilot or co-pilot spaceships, Teemo the Hutt did not need nor want to move from his palace and has no interest in traveling. So it's no wonder such a droid would just accumulate dust in his workshop...
Except R5-P9 is left there for a reason. No one will suspect a dirty astromech in the middle of spare parts of holding all the Hutt's sensitive data. While Teemo is working against the interests of his cousins, he takes every precaution to secure his plans and anything that could be used against him. And for any data, he does that by locking them in an encrypted part of this old R5 unit in such a way that the droid itself doesn't know about the data.
But while the Hutt fashion himself as a genious for such an idea, he forgot one important fact. His method of storing data prevented any memory wipe in the droid, allowing him to develop a personality over time. And when that grumpy droid sees a chance to escape by following a group that just enraged its master... Well it decided that it was finally time to get out there and stick it to the fat slug.
Motivation
Wanderlust:
R5-P9 seeks to leave tatooine and see the galaxy. While being an astromech droid, programmed to fly ships across the stars, he was solely used by Teemo to store sensitive data in a discreet place.
His programming dictate that he fly a ship, any ship, and this isolation in a dusty workshop without any memory wipe turned R5 a bit obsessive about it.
Obligations
Bounty : 15
R5-P9 belonged to Teemo the Hutt. A locked part of his memory contains all the researches and blueprints Teemo ordered on the creation of battle droids for his private army.
Teemo want these data and will stop at nothing to get them back.
