Background

Koth Wok'fey was a low-level but competent Republic intelligence operator during the clone wars, focused on rooting out separatist activity far from the core worlds. He was dedicated to his job and was good at it, but a consequence of the secrecy and frequent movement was estrangement from his family and friends. He was in the outer rim when he learned of the collapse of the Republic and, without a job and far from a home that wasn't his anymore, he made the decision to stay in the outer rim, using his quickly-deteriorating information network to start up a career as a smuggler.

In the intervening 20 years, Koth has become a reasonably successful underworld figure independent of organized crime syndicates. Most of his money comes from piloting his ship through blockades carrying contraband, but he is wanted (under various pseudonyms) for everything from cheating at cards to petty theft to stealing ships. He still has a rebuilt network of informants that allows him to stay one step ahead of the law, but takes offense at the assumption that he has one simply because he is a Bothan.

Motivation

Greed: Without any real relationships to speak of, Koth has mostly been in it for the money and thrills for enough time that he's pretty hardened about most things. He tries to get the job done, get paid, and have some fun doing it.

Politics: Still, Koth does have a lingering attachment to his old job and a nagging sense that his work isn't done. He has a fixation on separatists and will pursue jobs specifically involving them even if they pay a bit less or entail some risk.

Obligations

Criminal (10): He is wanted under various names for a wide variety of crimes.

Bounty (5): There is still technically a bounty on him as a "rogue" Republic agent, though this is low priority for the Empire. Still ,he likes to avoid official contact with the Empire.

Description

Koth is a short (just over four feet tall), slightly build Bothan, with tan fur and tufted ears. In his middle age (he's in his mid-50s), some of the fur around his face (including his well-kept beard) have begun to turn white and grey. He dresses unpretentiously but stylishly, and walks with a confident but unassuming air, and tends to only involve himself in games or conflicts he knows he can win.
