Background

Zylla Fhon was born to an extremely poor but tight-knit family in a rough section of urban Corellia. Her parents were uneducated and worked as scavengers in the junkyards near the Corellian Engineering Corporation facilities, but this didn't provide enough to keep the family fed. From an early age, Zylla showed an aptitude for piloting, and exposure to ship parts and terminology through tagging along with her parents to work made her an exceptionally talented pilot early on in life. She ended up spending much of her formative years helping to support her family & three younger siblings by serving as a racer for hire in Corellia's wildly popular underground podracing scene. She was recruited in her teens as a pilot for the Empire when officers visiting the Imperial Shipyards made a late night visit to an underground podrace. They persuaded her that this was the best way to support her family, and she'd be a part of bringing order and justice to the galaxy, which she completely believed. She excelled and eventually rose to command a TIE squadron after close to 10 years of service. This all changed when her family was killed in a routine raid of the local market on Corellia by local Stormtroopers - she was told it was an accident in the crossfire, that her family shouldn't have been there any way, but it sparked a total and complete disillusionment from the Empire. It didn't bring order or justice, only the reverse - and she'd supported the institution that did exactly what she joined to protect her family from. From then on, she looked to escape cleanly. She had worked with the Bothan Spy Network as a commander to track rebel and local gangs' ships - she subtly reached back out to sell movements of her squadron's ships to whomever could pay the price (this would feasibly fake her death and get her some credits to buy a ship & high tail it out of the Core). It works. The Rebels buy the information, kill every one of our TIE pilots and Zylla escapes - but her cover is blown. The Empire finds out it was her and has a bounty placed on her head. She hides on Ord Mandell for a while, buys her ship the Al Coda (ILH-KK Citadel class light freighter) and starts doing smuggling runs.

Motivation

Primary Motivation: Cause (Overthrow Empire).
Given history of joining the Empire to provide financial security for her
family, their subsequent demise and the Empire's inability to assist, Zylla
is disenchanted and shows strong emotional revulsion from the Empire,
given her past complicity. She isn't allied with the Rebellion but certainly
will take any chance to damage Imperial goods, priorities, or property as
her way of taking revenge for her family.
Secondary Motivation: Relationship (Comrades).
Is a loyal friend to Doh Ray'Mee given a history of doing jobs together. She
actively supported his family's extraction from the BSN and helped use
her knowledge of the Empire to secure their safety from Imperial forces.

Obligations

Betrayal: Zylla's guilt about selling out her squadron is intense and burdensome. She also feels like she has betrayed her family in supporting systems that directly led to their death.
Bounty: She's got a high Imperial bounty on her head but manages to stay out of the reach of the Empire.

Description

Around 30 human years old.
Medium height.
Typical Corellian complexion (dark haired).
Commanding presence that she usually tries to keep low key.
Vigilant, watchful and not very trusting. Brooding type.

Other Notes

This job background - I got the contact for this treasure hunt job from (BLANK), because after my last job running down the Hutt transport, I used up a bunch of credits to refuel / fix up the ship and need money badly.

Relationships with other characters:

Doh Ray Mee: In the course of my first year of smuggling, Doh Ray'Mee reaches out on behalf of the BSN as he knows about my past. I enlist him & his slicing skills for some more complicated smuggling jobs. I help him keep his family safe from the Empire. Later I find out DRM was using me to guarantee safe passage for his family who are on the run from the Empire, which I am deeply hurt by, but I get over it as we've built up trust & I want to compensate for not keeping my own family safe. I agree to not share anything about DRM's background with anyone, our official talk track is that we just know each other well from doing jobs together. Now we're a tight duo that helps run complicated smuggling jobs, spice raids, etc.

Capo: Recently I did a solo job (DRM away with family) where I was contracted to neutralize the Rodian captain Doomi Tanu & seize the spice he was carrying via a raid on a Hutt transport for the Black Sun. In looking for info on Tanu's whereabouts, I heard about Capo's skills as a good tracker from Mychon Fallon, a technician that’s worked on repairs for my ship now and again. He said Capo had ran a few jobs with an all-Rodian crew back in the day, like 20 years ago. Having no love for these guys, Capo freely shared that although he thought Tanu had likely killed himself and his crew by trying one too many of his Meteor Shower maneuvers, Tanu was a heavy spice user and would stop in to a particular glitterstim dealer whenever he was passing through the Outer Rim territories. I found him there, tailed his transport and completed my job. In our contact, it reinvigorated Capo's search for the other Rodians in Doomi's crew. Not being a fan of Rodians myself, I said I'd do what I could to aid Capo's search. But in the meantime, I mentioned I had a treasure hunting job and needed someone with Capo's skill set. I asked if he'd meet us at the Wheel and he accepted immediately.
