Background

Hailing from the Kuat System, Tarik does not remember much of his childhood, recognized as force sensitive at a young age, his parents turned him in at an imperial garrison and as far as he knows, they never looked back, that's the story that the Instructors at the Inquisitorius Program told him, reminding him every time he struggled, that they didn't want him here, just like his parents didn't want him.

His only comfort was found in his Brothers and Sisters in training, and even the early bonds of comradery through the struggles of training soon came to an end.

"Only the strong are worthy of belonging to our family." was a mantra often repeated as the severity of the practice sessions intensified.

As the numbers thinned and his training progressed, Tarik took pride in his abilities, he lasted almost 30 seconds when tasked with attacking Lord Vader, being the last of his group to be cut down. He carried his stump with pride before the prosthetic was fitted, and then things started to change.

His classmates were mostly dead, the people he had trained with falling in combat with each other, or to vicious attacks from their teachers.

He watched through the viewing port as the survivers of the Fighter Training Mission were mercilessly gunned down by the Relentless' Turbolasers as they were returning to the Hanger, their connection to the force not yet strong enough to guide their evasion from this unexpected attack.

The training seemed less and less like lessons and more like the betrayal of the ideal that their order had stood for, as the Grand Inquisitor fell and Brother and Sister fell with him the remaining instructors took less and less interest in their students, grasping for their own power and jockeying for position within the Inquisitorious Order.

Then there was Endor...

Endor, Endor was the end for him.

The stability, safety, and order that the Galactic Empire offered were revealed to be a thin veneer over a chaotic and cruel galaxy. As the terrorists and rebels began to grab actual power and control over large swaths of the galaxy, under the guise of this New Republic, the only true ruler of the Galaxy was anarchy.

His world shattered, his life and ambitions in tatters around him. Tarik waited in his cell to be called to join the rank of whichever Warlord took control next, but the call never came, they didn't care about some untrained boy with no official rank, no standing in the Empire. Everyone who oversaw the Inquistorious was dead, and if he stayed he would probably end up the same way.

It's was an easy task to take a ship off-world, it's not like he was the only person getting the hell off Coruscant, and it was an easy path that ushered him to the very edge of the Empire, there's work for people willing to do it and no one asks questions.

Motivation

Imperial Rule: Though the Empire has done some terrible things, the order it brings to galactic society is still better than
the moribund Republic that came before. The character believes that the Galactic Empire is the best thing for the galaxy.

Morality

Justice/Cruelty - 37

The Empire was just, there was Order in the galaxy, not the Chaos that he learned about before the Clone Wars.

Order begets Justice, Justice demands Punishment, Punishment leads to Order.

Clemency to the Guilty only begets more crime.
