Background

Headstrong for a Wookie, Jrrr'Ooo took the unusual step of enlisting in the Galactic Republic army at the outbreak of the Clone Wars. As a mechanic at the spaceport on Kachirho, he had more contact with Republic convoys than most Wookies, and was able to use his skill with a hydrospanner to convince a medical freighter, the Golden Monkey, to take him off-world and to the inner rim to sign on as an engineer in the Republic Navy.

By doing this, he found himself initially exiled from his clan on Kashyyyk, as his enlistment was seen as a betrayal of his honor to his family. Even returning home to assist in breaking the siege of the invading Separatists was not enough to win his family's good graces back. As such, he was offworld when the extent of the Galactic Empire's plans for Kashyyyk and his brethren became clear.

With his world enslaved by the very people for whom he had abandoned his honor, Jrrr'Ooo once again sought out the Golden Monkey, and was taken on as the ship's ace mechanic. By now, the galaxy had become rife with corruption and fear, and the Empire sought to bend the independent merchant fleets to their will, leading many, including the crew of the Golden Monkey, to turn to smuggling out of moral and financial necessity.

Unfortunately, the crew were better merchants than smugglers and the Empire was able to corner them on a run of medical supplies to Bothawui. While a number of the crew were spaced in the attack, Jrrr'Ooo was able to keep the Golden Monkey flying long enough for the ship to escape, briefly, to hyperspace and away from Imperials.

Adrift in the hyperspace lanes, a passing Rebel patrol was able to pick the Golden Monkey up and ferry the ship and the remaining crew to Tattoine. At this point Jrrr'Ooo made up his mind to fight again, this time against the Empire, and took up with the rebels that had saved him and his mates.
