Name Rank Book & Page Description
Machine Maker 1 When this character makes a Mechanics check to help a character heal wounds, the target heals one additional wound per rank of Machine Mender. Typically, only droids can be healed with Mechanics checks.
Deft Maker 1 The character removes [ ] per rank of Deft Maker from their checks to repair, modify, construct, and program droids. In addition, materials to craft droids cost the character 50% less. This does not decrease with additional ranks of Deft Maker.
Grit 1 Each rank of Grit increases a character’s strain threshold by one.
Redundant Systems 1 With an Easy () Mechanics check, the character may harvest components from a functioning device to repair a broken one, without breaking the functioning device. This allows the character to repair a broken device without having required spare parts, raw materials, or repair kits (the initial check does not suffer penalties for lacking repair kits, either). This only works, however, if the functioning device is at least the same size and technological level as the device being repaired (it is impossible to repair a starship with a blaster pistol, or a lightsaber with parts from a water wheel).
Eye For Detail 1 After rolling the dice pool for a Mechanics or Computers check but before interpreting the results, the character may voluntarily suffer a number of strain no greater than their ranks in Eye for Detail. If they do, they may convert that many Successes into Advantages. The character must still have at least in the results at the end to succeed on the check.

Background

THE DOWN AND OUT: The player may decide that the character comes from humble or hardscrabble beginnings. Characters from this type of background strive to better themselves and do their utmost to escape their plight. The character either trains incessantly, picking up knowledge any way that they can, or simply is tough and resourceful enough to go out on their own.

Quijon didn't have many friends growing up. He's was more introverted and reserved back then. This made him a big target for bullying.
Quijon was bullied by a Bith Teenager named Skonch. Who came from a very rich family. His father played Kloohorn for a pop star residency on Canto Byte.
One day Skonch found Quijon after school and decided to beat him viciously. Randomly, KL-3N, a maintenance droid happened to witness this attack. KL-3N stepped in by tazing Skonch, and scaring him away. Quijon was very appreciative of this droid's action and a friendship developed.
Later Skonch told his parents and they demanded the school have the droid destroyed. Quijon was more than devastated. Losing his friend sparked his interest in learning to create, fix, and repair droids. He has a lot of respect for his robotic counterparts and vowed to protect the little guys who can't defend themselves and better society.

Motivation

CAUSE
- The Weak / Charity: The character fights for the underdog, disliking bullies and totalitarianism. They'll put the interests of those in need before their own and may donate time or money to aid the less fortunate.

- Droid Rights: The character believes that droids should be accepted as full members of galactic society, not merely tools or servants.

Obligations

OBLIGATION VALUE - 10 - 4 PCS,
+10 Starting XP, +10 Obligation

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The PC is working on a long-term project such as a complex computer program or a light freighter refit. It may be personal or commissioned work. While long breaks may be acceptable, the Obligation cannot be totally fulfilled until the unfinished business is complete, and it weighs heavily on the PC's mind whenever the character chooses to postpone working on it for any reason.
---
Quijon really wants to pay homage to KL-3N by rebuilding or replicating as close as possible. He plans to remake a similar droid, that could have more of an impact on the galaxy.

====
FAVOR: The character owes someone a big favor. Perhaps a government agent looked the other way after catching the character slicing corporate computers. Perhaps a fellow Technician faked a malfunction or loss of data to cover for a failure on the PC's part. The magnitude of the favor is connected to the amount of Obligation. The Obligation could take an extended amount of time to clear, as it might be reduced by many small actions.
---
Quijon owes Bonnie for helping with opening his Tech Business. She believes in his skill and providing the starting credits to open the shop, he helps her with whatever she needs.
