Background
Torani's mother, Neela, trained her to be a bounty hunter so she could follow in her mother's footsteps. About ten years ago, her mother took a job that she refused to tell Torani anything about.
Her mother never came back.
Since then, Torani has been hellbent on finding out what happened to her mother. She still takes paid jobs, of course--she has to pay the rent--but between the paying gigs, she pursues whatever leads she can dig up. She hasn't made much progress--so far.
Her mother did mention taking some jobs involving the Separatists during the Clone Wars, so when Koth offered her a cut to come along to look for the Sa Nalaor, Torani couldn't say no.
But the payday certainly doesn't hurt either.

She has a scar that goes diagonally across her face (above left eyebrow to below right eye) from a nasty encounter with a fellow Rodian in her early days of being a bounty hunter. She loves her scar and views it as a reminder of both what can happen when she lets her guard down and the fact that she is capable of overcoming great adversity.
Torani is blunt and down-to-business. With the exception of her relationship with her mother, she's not the sentimental type. However, she is very sympathetic to other people whose loved ones have been taken from them in one way or another.
