Remnants of a blaster bolt scar on his lower back - while mostly healed, being struck or strained on that spot, in particular, brings out an extra dollop of pain.

Background

Apax spent the majority of his life as a bounty hunter, and while not as present or as close with many of his fellow Mandalorians, he's always held a profound respect for his brothers and sisters in arms. Despite that, he much preferred to go solo for most of the time, only occasionally allying with other bounty hunters when the need arose, or by pure happenstance.

One day, however, he found himself entrenched deep in a job, and things were starting to look hairy for him - but that was when a sudden ally appeared out of seemingly nowhere and helped him to escape the precarious situation while also confirming the elimination of their target. The person in question was a blue Twi'lek woman, and while Apax had never particularly fancied anyone before, he certainly felt... Something for her. And she seemed to do the same for him.

From then on, the pair were an inseparable bounty hunting team, laying claim to reward after reward, just about the best in the business in the system they frequented. However, good things never can last forever. After about three years of close camaraderie - in more ways than one - one mission would see the end to their partnership. A score so big, even split half and half they could each retire. But the score was perhaps too big for the Twi'lek to pass up taking entirely, and by the end of it, Apax was face-first on the ground, with a blaster bolt put in his back by his very partner.

Somehow, he had managed to survive, though. Long enough for reinforcements to arrive and blast the hell out of his armor, leaving it a scarred and mangled mess of what it had been, but he'd survived, whether he'd truly wanted to or not. With just about everything he'd owned lost and no possible leads on where the traitor had gone off to, he trudged his way to the nearest starport. He needed a drink.

Motivation

Revenge: Apax has not since forgotten and shall not soon forget the partner that betrayed him, and while he only thinks about it on occasion as of late, the prime thing that keeps him going every day is the thought that he'll one day find his old companion - and put a blaster bolt between their eyes.

Obligations

Addiction (+10): For one reason or another, alcohol has been Apax's prime comfort and ally more often than not. Sure, it can impair you and all that, but it also does well to impair your memory just the same; and some memories are best left impaired, for the Mandalorian.

Betrayal (+10): The life of a bounty hunter leads little room for making friends lest you risk a knife in your back, yet Apax took that leap and found a companion long ago - only for a blaster bolt to find its way into his back one day. Since then, potential allies seem far more like potential threats than anything else.
