Kanis originally worked as a militia commander, defending settlements in the outer rim from raiders and pirates, where he honed his skills as a gunman and tactician, plunging himself into the thickest part of the combat, right alongside his men.

Ultimately though, he realised this was pointless and there was a seemingly endless supply of criminals. Deciding to put himself where he would be more valuable, Kanis signed up with ISB to help out the Imperial security effort and bring stability and peace to a galaxy that was still recovering from a civil war.

Kanis is a perfectionist and a dedicated soldier. He wants to serve ISB well so that he can move up the ranks and command greater strength forces so that he can more easily bring order to the chaos.

Obligation - Bad Reputation 10: Kanis is very much by the book and a stickler for the rules, even in situations where the rules are inappropriate or just plain stupid.

Duty - Morale 0: Kanis believes that wars are not won by weapons, ships or objectives but by hearts and minds. He tries his best to lead and inspire his mean, although until he learns to lighten up, this will be quite difficult.

Kanis is loyal to a fault to any cause that he considers worthy. He will dedicate himself and his talents fully to any task he is given and will perform to exacting specifications. He has a strong force of will and a compelling and powerful manner of speech.

He is however very inflexible, preferring tried and tested solutions to problems rather than relying on ingenuity or creative thinking. He also rarely tells jokes as he doesn't really understand them. Lastly, partly due to his mirialan physiology and his training regimen, he is incredibly agile.
