Background

The Uuutideday clan has a history a little different than other Jawa clans. No one, even among the Jawas, know exactly how they got on Raxus Prime, but its clear as to why. A planet full of discarded tech is a Jawa's dream. But everything changed when the CIS decided to make Raxus Prime their new capitol planet. After the first couple of run-ins with CIS battle droids, the Uuutideday clan decided it was time to find a new place to call home. With fate on their side, they happened to find a Sandcrawler buried near the back half of a Corellian freighter. After a lot of sweat, blood, and some questionable engineering; they managed to make it 'spaceworthy' and made for the stars.

Like many of his clan, Jawok Nuun became a trained shipwright at a young age. Even though they now live among the stars, the old ways are still followed. Jawok is now required to complete a Rite of Passage to become a fully fledged member of the clan. He must leave and return with something of worth to the clan; the greater the worth, the greater his future standing. Remembering the home they were forced to leave behind, Jawok not only leaves to begin his journey, but to stick it to those who took his home.
Cobbling together random parts, and in good Jawa engineering tradition, he builds a ship. Barely. After roughly 2 days of traveling, Jawok picks up a distress call from a ship in need. He immediately makes for it.
The stranded travelers receive an answer to their call, and look on in confusion and awe as they see their rescuer drop out of hyperspace. What they see is the Salon Pod from a Consular-class Cruiser, but jury rigged with a functioning hyperdrive attached to it rear!
The crew was apprehensive about letting a Jawa muck around with their dead engine, but after a couple of hours Jawok has it working like new; eh mostly. They explain they're en route to join up with the GAR's 7th, and tell Jawok his skills would be appreciated and well utilized if he were to join as well.
Deciding this would be the best way to attain something worthy for his clan & to make the CIS pay for what they've done; Jawok agrees. Jawok follows the group to the 7th's command post, elegantly crashing his makeshift ship in the main hangar. Scampering out, he walks over to a ship, grabs a hydrospanner and gets to work; while fire containment crews try to put out his 'ship.'

Motivation

Expertise & Status:
Jawok wants to hone his crafting abilities and mechanic prowess. He believes the greater asset he becomes, the higher his standing will be. He desires to be a Master Mechanic and a Leader.

There is no more prolific or productive time for technological developments than during a war, and this one is no exception. Jawok sees the true opportunity for Republic victory in the hands of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Not only can they get the most performance from existing machines and resources, but they can design and develop new ships, weapons, medical techniques, and equipment that can provide the vital edge necessary to survive against the CIS' might. The way Jawok sees it, stealing the best developments of the CIS is a crucial way to even the odds & allow him to take his rightful place within his clan.
