Background

If you asked Sri what he is, where he came from, or how old he is, he wouldn’t be able to tell you, having long since ceased to care and forgotten. If one were to have followed and documented his birth to his germination they could track the falling of his seed on the ground of Myrkr to some point prior to 4000 BBY when his species abandoned the planet. Perhaps he was forgotten, or accidentally dropped, or even decidedly abandoned, who’s to say? Regardless the seed lay dormant for a series of decades until the Mandalorian Wars in which at some point within the series of battles his seed was displaced from the ground and potentially lodged into a warrior’s armor (perhaps a boot). He was likely carried for a series of years throughout the war until he was dropped by whatever Mandalorian he was latched onto and subsequently swept up by a Revanchist and carried to Dantooine where he’d again be dropped but now remaining permanently where he landed until his eventual germination. Likely due to his long period of travelling as a seed or perhaps simply by way of him being a kind of “late bloomer”, he did not emerge from the ground until 2543 BBY, 500 years later than usual. He grew into a sapling in the Khoonda plains relatively close to a crystal cave. By the age of 2 he began to wander and stumbled into the ruins of the Jedi Enclave where he made a temporary home for another year and a half until he was found by jedi archaeologists in search of lost knowledge to contribute to the construction of the Coruscanti Jedi Archives. He was personally trained by a Draethos Jedi master named Bata-jih, Presumably a member of the team that found him, who groomed him to knighthood and to eventually venture into the galaxy to find lost Jedi relics and artifacts from previous eras with him. As he grew older, he immersed himself specifically into philosophy, ancient lore, musings on the force, the nature of his own species, and exotic weaponry of old. He personally took to the study and practice of the unorthodox lightsaber pike, nearing the rank of specialised Weapons Master within his first century of life whilst juggling missions into Jedi ruins with his master. As the two were both of species with considerably long lifespans, both Sri and Bata-jih would live to have their missions to contribute to the newly built Jedi Archives be interrupted by the Fourth Great Schism and the beginning of the New Sith Wars. Sri and his master would participate in a number of early battles, however Bata-jih would fall in the Battle of Mizra. This left Sri to deal with the rigors of the war mostly on his own, participating in raids against the New Sith Empire, and securing certain Outer Rim Territories. Despite Sri’s best efforts, the war felt unwinnable to him, and his disheartenment was only highlighted by the loss of his master and his mounting frustrations with the Jedi Council. Despite his demoralisation, Sri continued to do his part, albeit reluctantly, and would go on to become a knight of Jedi Lord Hoth’s legion in Army of Light. However, after watching recruits of younger and younger ages be conscripted and subsequently slaughtered, Sri became so appalled that he could no longer support the fight and faked his death in the Fourth Battle of Ruusan to desert the Army of Light.
Sri fled away from the battlefield and scoured his mind for where to go, eventually recalling his studies of Ando Prime and setting out to find and hide with the precursors of the Jedi and Je’daii orders, the Order of Dai Bendu, and hopefully find guidance from them. Upon landing on Ando Prime, Sri wandered for a long time in search of the Dai Bendu until a sudden echo of mass death in the Force struck him, shaking him hard enough to knock him unconscious. He awoke in Bendu Village and upon expressing his situation to the monks he was allowed to remain with them. He committed himself to studying their ways, from numerology to their beliefs on non confrontation, to their history and views on the Force. For a time he returned to tree form to contemplate his next move, comparing information he learned from the Bendu and what lore he’d learned as a padawan, until eventually deciding to follow in the footsteps of the Bendu and going to Tython. He spent a short while travelling back and forth between settlements and the village, doing odd jobs and favours to buy his passage to the planet, relying on his knowledge of the old Jedi lore to guide the astrogation computer. Upon reaching Tython, Sri wandered in hopes of finding the Jedi temple, enduring the furious storms the planet threw at him. He eventually came across a very old; near dilapidated temple called Padawan Kesh, a temple of the Je’daii Order, the spiritual precursor to the Jedi Order. With his lost faith in the Jedi he committed himself to purging their teachings from his mind to allow himself to instead learn the ways of the Je’daii and find balance within himself. He made the perilous pilgrimage between all 9 of the Je’daii temples, to recover and study as much Je’daii knowledge that he could get his hands on. Every time he travelled Tython’s storms would constantly bare down on him in response to the imbalance of the Force in the greater galaxy, but as he committed himself to the Je’daii way of balance and learning better ways to view the Force, the weather eased slightly around him, making it easier for him to face the dangers the planet would put him against. With this phenomenon, certain local animals would flock to him for brief respite from the elements. This hermitude would last for some time until he noticed the storms were weathering away at the planet's environment more and more. Around then a vision came to him, he saw the temple of Vur Tepe, “The Forge”, an abandoned ship near the old Jedi Temple, a cave of crystals, a lightsaber pike beside Je’daii armor, 5 silhouettes (2 large, one small, one infantile, and one on 4 legs whos size would grow periodically), a horned Mandalorian helmet with a desert in the reflection of its visor, and finally nothing but blackness in which he could hear the soft voice of his master Bata-Jih. “Dantooine.” Taking this as images of his future, he travelled to Vur Tepe to reconstruct his lightsaber with different materials, found an ancient half forged sword to finish and take with him, and reforged his armor to appear more as a reconstruction of ancient Je’daii armor with modern Jedi additions and embellishments. He soon came across the remains of the jedi temple and, as his vision predicted, a very old ship that he was surprised could still operate as he flew it off Tython to Dantooine. He landed on Dantooine near as close to his “birthplace” as he could remember and scoured the land to find the Crystal Cave, once inside he allowed the force to guide him to a crystal that would suit his newly forged lightsaber pike then set out in search of the 4 beings he searched around the planet a couple times, benevolently helping people and wandering with the rare band of Dantari with their Garoo shamans along the way until he gathered that it would be more useful for him to take the passive route so he returned to the Dantooine Jedi Enclave in the Khoonda plains, delved into the under levels, sat in the garden and entered a meditative trance. Many years passed until the sound of fighting awoke him from his trance. He returned to his humanoid form to find a pair of Kyuzo and a Mirialan woman holding an infant running deeper into the under levels away from a group of Miraluka, one of which wielding a lightsaber. Sri attempted to join the group but was quickly detected by the Miralukans and was beset upon. After a long clash he managed to catch up with who he recognised as 4 of the 5 silhouettes from his vision and help them escape. After putting a great deal of distance between them and the Miraluka Sri learned that the Mirialan, Mayv Sirrid, was a young gambler from Nubia with Kyuzo bodyguards, Kodo and Rauyi, hired by her father, a head engineer of Nubia Star Drives. Mayv had the unfortunate experience of watching an old Miralukan Pazaak player, new to her table, drunkenly wager his infant child against her. Of course she won and, much to her displeasure, she came in possession of the Miralukan baby who didn’t have a name beyond the surname of her father. Days later she’d be approached by the Miralukan group that attacked them, claiming to be Sene Seekers of the Luka Sene, and they asked her to give them the child. She admitted to having a “bad feeling” about it and refused prompting their attack. Taking a prototype ship from Nubia Star Drives, she, Kodo, and Rauyi fled into space but were shot down and crashed onto Dantooine. From Sri’s vague recollection of his studies he didn’t think the Luka Sene left their home planet of Alpheridies to recruit, nor did he have any recollection of them using lightsabers, suggesting that their leader either was a Jedi or he killed a Jedi and stole it. Whatever the case was, Sri was unwilling to let these people be hunted down and killed by armed dark side users, especially if they were from his vision and so decided to join and help them. He helped them tow their damaged ship to the nearest settlement he knew to have a mechanic and then guarded them from attacks. At first this amounted to Sri and the Kyuzo protecting the settlement from roving packs of Kath hounds and bandits, but eventually turned to warding off attempts from the rogue Luka Sene to either storm or infiltrate the settlement to kill the child, though they could only ever manage to wound the Miraluka to send them into a retreat instead of killing or even capturing them. Through the adversity they struggled through as the ship was being repaired to a state of flyability, Sri and the Kyuzo would forge a respect for one another, he for their martial skill especially with their energy bows and war shields, and they for his skill with a lightsaber which of course led to him admitting to the group that he was a former Jedi Knight. This led to him forming a connection with Mayv and the child, often watching the infant with her as the infant flexed weak force abilities, specifically a strong affinity for the ability to sense instead of see, far more than regular for her species. The infant would often begin to cry before conflict hit the settlement. Eventually their ship was successfully repaired, allowing them to flee Dantooine to Alpheridies albeit pursued by the rogue Luka Sene. Luckily, with Sri’s rough approximation of battle meditation, they managed to outmaneuver and outrun them. On Alpheridies, the group tracked down the true Luka Sene and proposed that they take the infant. However, the Luka Sene could sense that the baby had bonded to the group, primarily to Mayv, and figured it’d be more of a detriment to separate them so they settled to send an advisor, Ilya Denerim, with them to help in raising the child. The Luka Sene explained the dark siders as Sene Seekers who they sent and were thought killed by one of their order that they’d sent to join the Jedi. Evidently the one they sent, S’ten Lasheros, fell to the dark side in the midst of his Jedi training and blamed the Luka Sene for whatever anguish he now feels leading him to seek out and either turn or kill Seekers they sent to apprehend him and young Miraluka who could one day also join the Luka Sene. They had a pair of Sene Seekers accompany the group as they returned to Nubia to defend the child and settled in Mayv’s family penthouse. After a couple years, Ilya and the Seekers alerted the group to an impending attack from S’ten and his rogues and prepared their defense. As S’ten stormed the manor, Sri engaged him directly while his companions attacked the rogues. Their lengthy duel would come to a close after Sri heavily disabled S’ten’s sword arm by severely breaking his wrist and dislocating his shoulder and subsequently bisecting his leg. Immensely demoralised, S’ten’s rogues retrieved their leader and fled the manor, though the Seekers would pursue. The group would go on peacefully for a long time without hearing from S’ten, giving them the impression that he’d gone into hiding. Eventually, Kodo and Rauyi would bid Mayv, Ilya, and the infant child, now named Mystara Orsalno, having been called back to their Clovoc on Phatrong and after a small amount of coercion they allowed Sri to accompany them. On Phatrong, Kodo and Rauyi were tasked with aiding their Clovoc in a tournament to settle an intense feud with a rival family. However, when the competition began heading south for Kodo and Rauyi’s Clovoc, Sri insisted that he fight for them, earning the family’s respect. Unfortunately, Rauyi would be killed by one of her opponents, forfeiting the rival Clovoc’s victory. Her killer, Ushin, immediately fled and Kodo insisted they hunt him. Sri, devoted to his friend, offered to join him and was honorarily bestowed the Clovoc’s name, Hwarang, as his surname for all he was willing to do for them. Kodo and Sri went in search of Ushin, starting by asking around planets known for their population of mercenaries, smugglers, bounty hunters, etc. before tracking him to Belsavis where he was fighting in an underground arena that was run in an unmonitored prison labyrinth. Kodo paid his way into a round against Ushin and subsequently killed him while Sri followed a pull in the force deeper into the labyrinth to wear beasts were held to be forced into the colosseum. Sri found a Cave Varactyl, mortally wounded but protecting its young offspring, Sri reached out and formed a bond with the scared baby cave Varactyl and eventually its mother would allow him to take its baby with him. Sri subsequently freed every animal from their pens and let them run amok against the criminals in the arena, and escaped with Kodo back to Phatrong. Sri would travel across Phatrong for a while, raising his Varactyl into adolescence and supporting the Hwarang Clovoc until they would eventually send him with Kodo and other fighters to find Myrkr to find work. They worked as hired guns and mercenaries for a few years but eventually Sri was taken out of commission by an intense wave of death in the force during one of his missions, forcing him into a coma for around a week. During his coma, Sri saw another vision of a Mandalorian helmet with a cracked visor with a warped reflection of a sandy environment. When he came to back on Myrkr, Kodo and the Hwarang company were preparing to return to Phatrong, and while Sri was on his way to board their shuttle he heard a smuggler talking about bringing some supplies to an obscure Mandalorian faction on Concord Dawn. Feeling it was his destiny to go with the smuggler he bid farewell to Kodo and his friends, promising that they’ll meet again, before going with the smuggler to Concord Dawn.
