Motivation

In his heart he is a frontiersman and in his youth he thought the Empire would be the best way to help his home. Then he saw the rebels "actually caring" until they started winning. We all have seen how the new Republic handles things now that they are in power. The new boss is the same as the old boss, just less overtly oppressive

"The Empire didn't care about the outer rim, the Rebels pretended to care, and now the 'New Republic' doesn't care. That means I have to do it myself"
